BYE, BYE, BYE: WVU FOOTBALL’S OFF WEEK REFLECTED IN WEST VIRGINIA SPORTS BETTING HANDLE

It Had Been an up and down week for sports Gambling at West Virginia.

While the overall betting handle didnt grow for the first time in a while, the Mountain State still had a strong showing for the week of Sept. 28.
Although the total handle was about $100,000 short of a weeks state greatest, the $6.5 million in wagers is still very respectable. This is.
Earnings figures were strong as well. WV sportsbooks got over $800,000, with more than $300,000 coming from mobile sports gambling apps.
Its been an incredible debut in WV for FanDuel and DraftKings sportsbooks. Collectively, they have revitalized the WV marketplace and that they made more money than ever in their own existence this week.
Along with gambling action, the sportsbooks are helping solidify a revenue stream. This is currently 11 weeks in a row that books have earned a profit.
Wagers quantity must continue through October as betting on college football and the NFL continues to control the news.
WVU Mountaineers are looking to get back this week with an additional home game in Morgantown. After losing to Texas on Saturday, the WVU soccer will have to pull an upset this week against Iowa State in order to stay over .500.
Marshall soccer is back on the area. The Thundering Herd have fell to. Theyll take this weekend.
This weeks report includes action
Below are the key takeaways in the Sept. 28 revenue report:
Even in the small sample size of the state, it is clear that online sportsbooks driving the marketplace and are here to remain. WV mobile sports have experienced a substantial effect on both handle and earnings.
DraftKings and FanDuel pulled over $300,000, about $35,000 over their high Last week. Online sportsbooks accounted for approximately 38% of the total earnings of the state per week, up 4.
This may not seem like too large of some, but online gambling is quite fresh in WV. Over the past couple of weeks, to moving 17, this portion has grown and should continue.
It gets around 80% of its revenue from online sportsbooks, Even though the New Jersey market has a whole lot more options than WV right now. It may be a time although WV reaches that sort of divide, but anticipate mobile.
The handle did not rise for the first time in more than a month though revenue has not stopped expanding. This is not overwhelmingly concerning considering where the market was two weeks ago and also the simple fact that there were still $6.5 million in stakes placed.
What might be the driving factor for this particular blip is that WVU did not have a match for the week of Sept. 28. Even though its unclear exactly what percentage of bets land around the Mountaineers matches, itd be safe to mention a great part.
Knowing there were no wagers put on the WVU game means this weeks handle is really quite impressive. Well have a far greater comprehension of this once we see the characters that include the bets of next week.
Here are the??most recent figures??released by the WV Lottery Commission since??WV sports began in August 2018:
It was a week for sports bets in WV. Although betting handle reduced by 2%, the state still accepted $6,511,986.39 at wagers.
Revenue figures did better. Sportsbooks created $810,050.70, a 44% increase from the week prior.
They were quite productive even though retail and online sportsbooks couldnt match their handle from the last week. In spite of WVU not playing, Hollywood Casino set another new best in regards to handle, more this week, including around $60,000.
Hollywoods handle has now reached the $4.3 million mark for the fourth successive time.
The Greenbrier finished in second because the only other to accept $ 1 million in bets more than. The Greenbriers deal was about $100,000 shy of its past fourteen days, Even though this is considered a great week.
Mountaineer Casino came in third because it still doesnt have ties to an online sportsbook. The more than 880,000 it approved is a quality.
Here is the way the WV sportsbooks rank for handle:
Revenue figures remain powerful in WV. The time sportsbooks didnt earn money was the week of July 13. Since that time, revenue was greater than six figures every week.
As always, Hollywood Casino led the way. This really is the its sportsbook was made in three weeks, when it earned over $1.2 million.
Of the $600,000, around $200,000 worth came DraftKings, out of Hollywood sportsbook.
The Greenbrier completed bringing in more than $100,000. This is the fourth week.
Surprisingly, the FanDuel online sportsbook of The Greenbrier was responsible for 92 percent of its total revenue, or more than 99,000.
Mountaineer did not do badly, making close to $100,000, too. Its sportsbook has continued to do without a cellular gaming program.
Although neither is open for business, both Mardi Gras Casino and Wheeling Island paid around a combined $ 300 in stakes.
Heres the way the WV sportsbooks rank for weekly earnings:
Both WVU and Marshall are currently enjoying with this weekend in what ought to be an slate of college soccer. The Mountaineers are coming off a loss although the Herd suffered defeat.
WVU will remain at home and battle this week. Marshall contributes to Huntington to perform Old Dominion.
Here are both teams chances for this Saturday based on DraftKings and FanDuel on line sportsbooks:
The NFL season is currently moving along also, together with Thursdays match kicking off 6. Here are the local teams chances in accordance with FanDuel and DraftKings:

Who Will Replace Julien as the Full-Time Head Coach of the Bruins?

You had a fantastic run, Claude, however, I suppose it had to end eventually. After nine and a half years of support, Claude Julien was fired as head coach of the Boston Bruins and rumors are beginning to swirl as to who will replace the Stanley Cup-winning coach.
It’s clear that Bruins’ management wasn’t delighted with the direction the team was heading in, with only 58 points after 55 matches, but what’s not too clear is precisely what they expected. Virtually everyone predicted that the B’s would be a team to the outside looking in and it seemed all but certain Julien will be relieved of his post at the conclusion of the season. The impatience of the new NHL, but reared its ugly head once more and among the best coaches in the league is now looking for work — that I am sure he will find in short order. The timing couldn’t have been better for the Bruins since it was unlikely they’d confront much backlash from the public and the media with the Patriots celebrating their recent Super Bowl win having a parade in downtown Boston in the same time the Bruins declared the firing.
BetOnline has set lines who will become the upcoming full-time coach of the First Six team from Massachusetts and there are a number of familiar names close to the top of the listing. With former Panthers bench boss Gerard Gallant coming in at +200 and the recently fired Ken Hitchcock being available in +400.
Assistant coach Bruce Cassidy will take over head coaching duties in the meantime and he’s the current favorite to take over the full-time job with +160 odds. Before he had been promoted to the big club at the beginning of the 2016-17 season, Cassidy served as the head coach of the Bruins’ AHL affiliate in Providence for five years. It is likely the Bruins’ management has been dressing the Ottawa, Ontario native for the significant job so that it makes a lot of sense that he’s the favorite.
With groups like the Penguins, Blues, Panthers and possibly the Islanders all using this method with their recent full-time head coach hirings, I could see the Bruins doing exactly the same thing. I am not sure what it requires to maintain a job as a head coach in the NHL anymore however when Claude Julien doesn’t have it, nobody will.
Here’s the entire list of potential full-time head coaches for the Bruins offered at BetOnline:

Bangladesh v Pakistan: Tigers can manage one final kill

Bang at it

Bangladesh may have been a bit too Tiger-ish. After gorging on big game – South Africa – in their very first outing, their bellies have been complete. Surethey weren’t pleased and even though they swatted a paw now and then against the last four, they didn’t have the nous to take down another scalp.

Against Pakistan they will not think victory would be considered a shock. It is the norm. Bangladesh have won the last four and although it might be easy to worry if they will be straining every sinew, one just needs to have a basic comprehension of the history of the 2 teams to reckon they’ll be’at it’.

There are no lack of gun gamers. Shakib-al-Hasan, the participant of the championship, Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahman, Mustafizur Rahman and Mohammad Saifuddin have all enhanced their reputations.

Saifuddin, that has been superb with all the ball, boshed an unbeaten 51 against India at a gutsy Bangladesh series on Tuesday. The balance of the XI was eye-catching with Mashrafe Mortaza batting at No 9.

Pakistan unfortunate
Pakistan may well feel aggrieved they haven’t made it to the semi-finals. They beat England, who look to be running into form at precisely the ideal time, and New Zealand, that have pipped them on net run rate. Their washed-out battle against South Africa probably robbed them of greatest points, too.

Given New Zealand’s pathetic efforts when they’ve come up against teams of notice, it is not unfair to wish it was the guys in green that were advancing. Sure, they can be chaotic but that’s precisely why you would want them . Who knows what they could have pulled from this hat?

The remember of Shaheen Afridi is an example. Maybe if he had been playing from ball one they would not have missed out. Afridi has taken ten wickets in four games.Lord’s wicket a little tricky
Here are the last 17 first-innings scores at Lord (1/2 denotes game obtained by side batting second or first ): 243-1/285-1/322-1/308-1/153-2/328-1/251-1/309-1/300-1/227-2/220-2/272-2/280-1/246-2/265-1/277-1/235-2. As you can see there is a trend – the side batting first will get to at least post 280. Australia razed New Zealand using a lowly 243 but it is very much par for the course the New Zealanders fear when they are going to beat their old rivals. The 285 by Australia against England was instructive. In the break it looked somewhat light but the wicket does not play accurate and will hold up.

Disrespectful price about Tigers
After Pakistan beat New Zealand an old buddy on Twitter requested: how can you predict what Pakistan will do?

It is pretty simple: not bet them when they’re odds on. So we’ll be giving them a wide berth at no greater than 1.57. The 2.66 about Bangladesh is disrespectful given their head-to-head advantage.

That wobble against Afghanistan by Pakistan tips at complacency when Pakistan reckon things will be easy. Fingers crossed that they are either smarting about the departure, checking flight times or believing they are superior.

Imam worth a second follow
Shakib is, unsurprisingly, the hot favourite at 5/2 with Sportsbook for top Bangladesh honours. On data he should not be as short but it’s difficult to take him on. We’ve got a soft spot for Mushfiqur. For Pakistan, Imam-ul-Haq’s cost is down and up. Against Afghanistan he was rated as 11/4 jolly. After that failure he is now out high 9/2 having been constant at 7/2. He’s got a win rate on the marketplace on form. For best Pakistan bowler, Afridi gave us a wonderful winner in that game. Having a 31% gain rate if you’re able to get 5/2 or better it’s a wager.

Ritson vs Davies Jr & Cheeseman vs Fitzgerald: Grudges must be settled the old fashioned way

These are the form of nights that are remembered in several years time as the minute a British fighter demonstrated their bark could be matched by their sting.
Novel Taylor-Prograis and Chisora-Price
Scott Fitzgerald vs Ted Cheeseman and lewis Ritson vs Robbie Davies Jr, equally reside out of Newcastle on Sky Sports on Saturday, are critical litmus tests at the careers of enhancing and young fighters however intriguingly, they are classic grudge matches.
They have had plenty to say and a persons words will be shown incorrect, their confidence misplaced, their threats empty. That is four ballsy guys who do not care about closely weighing up reward and risk, the risk accepted by Ritson, Davies Jr, Fitzgerald and Cheeseman. They have dived in with both feet.
These type of conflicts can create outcomes – George Groves beat James DeGale eight years ago and Anthony Joshua knocked out Dillian Whyte – two conflicts indulged in animosity and rivalry.
On these nights that they fought simply to halt the rumour mill and address what they believed to be reality. This was the high quality and popularity of those struggles and those boxers that four guys, including those whose unbeaten documents disappeared in front of family and friends, have gone on to do for themselves.
Ritson and Davies Jrs spat began as excellent modern disputes do, on social networking, and has evolved through a altercation that proves the weakness of one man based upon whose version of the story you believe plus ringside interviews.
I just stared at him. He was mumbling something, said Davies Jr of this night earlier this season in his home town once he and Ritson equally won struggles, then contested each other.
We have been staying in precisely the identical hotel, along with the gods honest truth, my hand on my heart, every time Ive looked at him, hes looked away.
He will build the hype for the TV, but if it was only me and him, it was me whod front and not him.
Ritson later said:He was writing a few things on social media. It wasnt me who backed the two struggles – it was .
Davies Jr hit back:Im here now, arent I? I told you Id come here, and I am here today.
Davies Jr and ritson are both in the situation of getting lost but recovered, and so are eager prior to attaining a greater degree, to not lose again. Ritson was lightweight champion but dropped in Newcastle at a title battle, and has moved up a branch. Davies Jr has been British, European and Commonwealth super-lightweight champion. They have records.
Scotlands Josh Taylor and Regis Prograis in a world super-lightweight name unification fight fight, live on Sky Sports Box Office week. Ritson and Davies Jr really certainly are a step away from that sort of chance however, should Taylor emerge with two world titles from Prograis, this makes a title challenge for a fellow Brit likelier.
Cheeseman and Fitzgerald collide in the most recent chapter of a spicy scene that also involves Anthony Fowler – it is a three-way rivalry that should spawn conflicts regardless of the outcome of Saturday.
Fitzgerald came before this season by beating Fowler in a battle of unbeaten prospects – . Fitzgerald earned a crack in the British title of Cheeseman – Fowler will return again against one of these guys as this competition proceeds to unravel.
Cheeseman, impressed Asinia Byfield in which he won the belt and wins Carson Jones and unlike Fitzgerald, was on a curve. Though, Cheeseman finds himself without a win in 2 fights.
He dropped in a European title challenge subsequently drew with Kieron Conway however, the belt stays approximately Cheesemans midsection.
More importantly than the golden is the bragging rights and the pride.

European Clubs’ Association: What has happened to planned reforms?

By Simon Stone
BBC Sport in Geneva
What was meant to be a meeting on the road to significant reform in football stopped in Geneva on Tuesday afternoon.
It was not exactly what the European Clubs’ Association (ECA) had envisaged if they met in Malta summer time. Then, they expected, this week they’d be finalising adjustments that could be passed on to Uefa for rubber stamping in advance of their inception in 2024.
The measure of the problems his coworkers and ECA chairman Andrea Agnelli are currently confronting was emphasised in discussions off from their main press conference. The overall message was the same although the design differed depending upon who spoke. Forget Plan A. Plan B is required but, in this stage, nobody is completely sure what that needs to be.
Agnelli attempted to deal with the situation however, the Juventus chairman, normally rested, had no definitive responses.
It was all rather unsatisfactory when Agnelli was asked whether it was true he had asked the national leagues for a reduction in the number of teams that play 43,, and a closing press conference came into a fittingly terse end.
“Nono,” he said, climbing to his feet, before responding’no’ again when he asked if he’d ever mentioned it.
Agnelli and the ECA believe an overwhelming majority of the member clubs want reform of European competition.
The initial proposal was for three contests with group phases containing four teams of eight clubs, promising 14 games. The idea was to own promotion and relegation between different competitions.
It was never made clear where the additional match dates – eight over the present system – would emerge from. However, it was envisaged TV earnings would be generated by the fluctuations and expand contest, both in regard to the amount of clubs along with the matches they played.
Immediately, some strong voices declared their resistance. Even the Premier League clubs released their collective announcement, and individual clubs made their feelings known.
ECA personnel have spent the past 3 months attempting to find common ground that would allow the formulation of a plan that could be carried forward. It has become clear this is impossible.
“The suggestion will be in the interests of most and it is a good proposal,” explained Agnelli. “Can this be the one that arrives first at the finishing point? It may not be.”
Although no-one said it openly the blame for the current impasse has been credited to the big five leagues of Europe, from France, Spain, Italy, England and also Germany.
The feeling is those leagues are concerned about protecting their national TV markets out of any erosion than they’re about the improvement of the continent as a whole caused by the growth of the sport.
1 club from a large country told BBC Sport he had no issue with England’s biggest clubs, nor, grudgingly, the Premier League as a complete awarded fascination that is historic and its competitiveness. However, he contested the Italy’s sixth greatest club should gain from enormous additional TV revenues, a few of which came from his own nation, while the finances of his club were reducing.
“The attractive we’re the fewer people want to come into our games and the quicker our players wish to depart for clubs in other nations,” he said.
“The big leagues are only considering themselves. They do not care about competition. For us, it is all about European contest. That’s where the interest is.”
It is the self-centred pursuits of these huge leagues Edwin van der Sar was speaking about if the prior Netherlands and Manchester United goalkeeper, today building a remarkable reputation as chief executive at Ajax, was speaking about when he stated of the previous 3 weeks:”There was lots of suggestions and opinions from different stakeholders – some relevant, some untrue and insignificant, which is odd.”
“In the top, some things need pruning,” said former Crystal Palace midfielder Aki Riihalahti, currently chief executive in Finland’s most renowned club HJK Helsinki. “In the opposite end, I have rarely seen such arrangement. Change is needed.”
The problem is the proposals were announced with such fanfare, a component of wariness has been introduced within the procedure for knocking them back.
Despite numerous sources saying that first idea is’dead’, a minumum of one delegate Switzerland has taken an opinion which he will not believe a notion he believed could have’disastrous’ consequences for the national league his club plays has gone , until an alternative strategy was imposed.
Ideas that were floated around the borders of talks in Geneva this week have included a return for the group stage of the Champions League, that was abolished after four seasons in 2003.
Such notions will be taken on board or discarded, together with Agnelli stating when Uefa must go into the marketplace for its TV rights cycle that runs from 2024 as that is the concrete deadline for change is 2022.
The chances now are on a set of smaller changes, taking place to modernize the European soccer landscape, although clubs were warned by Agnelli not everybody required to be on board before proposals were set to Uefa.
“We will not get beyond an 80% satisfaction rate,” he explained.
“You have to remember, the ECA is still there to guard the marketing of soccer across all European countries, not merely a few who have been a little more vocal lately ”

What was intended to be a meeting on the path to reform in European football finished with statements about deadlines and discussions that was extended for another 18 months on Tuesday afternoon in Geneva.
It wasn’t exactly what the European Institution’ Association (ECA) had envisaged if they met in Malta summer time. They hoped, this week they would be finalising changes that could be passed to Uefa for rubber of the inception at 2024.
The measure of the difficulties his executive and ECA chairman Andrea Agnelli are confronting was emphasised in discussions away from their main press conference. The overall message was about the same although the tone differed slightly depending upon who spoke. Forget Plan A. Plan B is required but, at this stage, nobody is completely certain what that ought to be.
Agnelli tried to manage the situation but also the Juventus chairman, generally so rested, had no responses.
It was quite unsatisfactory and a closing press conference came to a terse ending when Agnelli was asked whether it was true he’d inquired the national leagues for a reduction in the number.
“Nono,” he said, climbing to his feet, before replying’no’ again when he asked if he’d mentioned it.
The ECA and agnelli consider an overwhelming majority of the member clubs need reform of contest.
The initial proposal was for three competitions, each with team phases containing four classes of eight nightclubs, guaranteeing 14 games. The notion would be to have relegation and promotion between the competitions.
It was not made clear where the match dates eight over the present system – could come from. It was envisaged the changes would create TV earnings that is increased and expand rivalry, both in relation to the number of clubs along with the matches they playedwith.
Immediately, their resistance was announced by some powerful voices. The Premier League clubs introduced their statement that was collective, and clubs made their feelings known.
ECA employees have spent the past few months attempting to find common ground that would enable the formulation of a plan which may be carried forward. It has become obvious this is impossible.
“The proposal will be in the interests of most and it’s a fantastic proposal,” explained Agnelli. “Can it be the one that arrives first at the finishing line? It might not be.”
Although nobody stated it in private, the blame for the current impasse is being credited to the large five leagues of Europe, from Germany, Spain, Italy, France and England.
The feeling is these leagues are more concerned about protecting their profitable domestic TV markets out of any erosion caused by the growth of the game, than they are about the improvement of this continent as a whole.
One club from a large state that is middle-ranking told BBC Sport he had no problem with England’s most important nightclubs, nor , grudgingly, the Premier League as a whole awarded its competitiveness and historic attraction. He questioned why Italy’s sixth club needs to benefit from enormous additional TV revenues, some of which came out of his own nation, although the financing of his club had been decreasing.
“The less attractive we are, the fewer people wish to come into our matches and the quicker our players wish to leave for clubs in different countries,” he explained.
“The big leagues are only interested in themselves. They don’t care about competition that is European. It is all about contest. That’s the point where the interest is.”
It’s the self-centred interests of those big leagues Edwin van der Sar was talking about if the prior Netherlands and Manchester United goalkeeper, now building a remarkable reputation as chief executive at Ajax, was talking about when he said of the previous three months:”There has been lots of suggestions and feedback from different stakeholders – some relevant, some untrue and insignificant, that is strange.”
“In the very best, a few things need pruning,” said former Crystal Palace midfielder Aki Riihalahti, now chief executive in Finland’s most renowned team HJK Helsinki. “At the other end, I have seldom seen this kind of arrangement. Change is required.”
The issue is the first proposals were announced with fanfare, an element of wariness has been introduced within the process of knocking them back.
Despite many sources saying that first notion is’dead’, at least one delegate in Switzerland has taken a view that he will not think an idea he believed would have’disastrous’ consequences for the domestic league his team plays in has gone off, until an alternate strategy was enforced.
Suggestions which were floated around the borders of talks from Geneva have included a recurrence for the group phase of the Champions League, that was abolished after four seasons in 2003.
Notions will be carried on board or discarded, together with Agnelli saying when Uefa has to go into the market for the TV rights cycle which runs from 2024 as that’s the concrete deadline for change is 2022.
The odds are on a collection of smaller fluctuations, taking place to revise the football landscape, though nightclubs were warned by Agnelli not.
“We won’t get beyond an 80% satisfaction rate,” he explained.
“You shouldn’t forget the ECA is there to protect the marketing of football across all European countries, not just a few who have been a bit more vocal lately .”

“In the very top, some things need pruning,” stated former Crystal Palace midfielder Aki Riihalahti, currently chief executive at Finland’s most famous team HJK Helsinki. “In the opposite end, I have seldom seen such arrangement. Change is needed.”

Ideas that were floated around the edges of conversations from Geneva this week have included a yield to the second group phase.
Such ideas will either be carried on board or discarded, together with Agnelli saying when Uefa must go into the marketplace for the TV rights cycle that runs from 2024 as that is the deadline for change is 2022.
The odds are on a selection of alterations, taking place to modernize the European soccer landscape, though nightclubs were warned by Agnelli not.
