England face a recognizable, ominous threat as their route to qualification for Euro 2020 proceeds to look more – but it will not come from any of the teams that they may face to next summer’s showpiece on the route.
Their opponents in Group A could almost have been hand-picked for a comfortable passage by manager Gareth Southgate and the Football Association.
There’s a danger, however, in brushing aside such impotent opposition with regularity that lies.
While Kosovo, on Tuesday, are next up at St Mary at 120th bulgaria, ranked 60th in the world by Fifa, were disregarded 4-0 in Wembley. The highest-rated competitions in 43rd of England, the Czech Republic, have been beaten while Montenegro, in their own ground, were outclassed 5-1 at 55.

As a power rusher near the peak of the pocket, I do not think he’s going to have any problem. There are a few things I believe in coaching pass rushers. Pass rush is about violence and effort. That is what it is about. It’s about how we end at the top of the pocket. Because guys don’t run around other players in this league. Players are too great. So we have got to get him very good at how exactly is he likely to clear? And how is he going to finish?”
If Floyd becomes a force opposite Mack, the Bears will be a menace to QBs. This offseason, Chicago picked up Floyd’s fifth-year option for 2020, worth $13.22 million. They’ll gladly pay that price if the edge rusher breaks out in 2019.
