Search For A Song ‘done for the year’
Dermot Weld has confirmed his Irish St Leger winner Hunt For A Song won’t run again this season.
The three-year-old filly lasted on a steep upward curve in the Curragh, beating last year’s Doncaster St Leger winner Kew Gardens beneath a trip from Chris Hayes on Sunday.
Having finished fourth at the Irish Oaks behind Star Catcher, she subsequently won the Galtres Stakes – and Weld is excited about what next year may bring.
He said:”Look For A Song came out of her race well, but is completed for the year.
“She’s done us proud, and now we look forward to some severe campaign next year.”
Weld was using Tarnawa, who won the Blandford Stakes, also she has choices for the season’s conclusion.
He said:”Tarnawa came from her race equally well and has three options, the Fillies & Mares Race in Ascot at October, the EP Taylor at Canada and the Prix de l’Opera on Arc afternoon.
“We’ll determine which one closer the moment. Both fillies did us proud.”

Browns’ David Njoku: ‘I want 20 touchdowns this year’
Create an inventory of Cleveland Browns offensive weapons.
How far down this record does David Njoku land?
It (probably) belongs Baker, Odell, Jarvis, Chubb, Kareem Hunt if not suspended, then Njoku.
The dynamic tight end landing well down the list underscores the Browns’ dynamic turnaround from previous seasons, in which deficiencies on that side of the ball have been deep.
Heading into his third year, the former first-round pick could be in for a leap, becoming one of the top tight ends in the NFL.

??? NFC West primer: Camp questions ??? Rank: Could Redskins surprise?
While working out with Baker Mayfield along with other teammates in Los Angeles, Njoku stopped by the Rich Eisen Show on Tuesday and was asked about his goals for the 2019 season.
“Honestly speaking, I don’t really put numbers in my goals,” Njoku informed Eisen. “I just feel as if I gave everything that I could into the match, only worked my hardest, I feel as I’ll feel accomplished.”
. . .Wait for this…
“With that said, I want 20 touchdowns this year,” Njoku added laughing before heading back into his canned answers. “I only feel, for me, only knowing that I gave I obtained will make me feel accomplished.”
Sure, Njoku was mostly joking about 20 touchdowns — although we should never chastise a professional athlete to setting the bar high. Only two players in NFL history have attained the 20-TD catch pub: Jerry Rice (22) in 1987, and Randy Moss (23) in 2007. Rob Gronkowski’s 17 TDs in 2011 would be the most ever for a tight end. Last year, Antonio Brown led the Total NFL with 15 TDs and Eric Ebron led TEs.
Is beside the point. The wider notion the numerical utterance conjures is a discussion about if the tight end is possibly primed for a big season.
Still only 22 years old, Njoku possesses the ideal combination of size in 6-foot-4, 246 pounds, and athleticism to be a dominant tight wind force, if he could become constant in all facets. Last year he showed flashes of being a possible difference-making goal for Mayfield, who can take advantage of mismatches within the middle, flying past linebackers and bullying safeties. His 639 yards and four TDs on 56 receptions demonstrated promise, but the ceiling could be much greater.
Improved route-running from Year 1 to Year two was clear on Njoku’s movie, and while he wasn’t the ideal blocker for his place, he got markedly better. Taking those strides will determine just how high Njoku’s leap can be.
The gift is there for Njoku. One big question is if there’ll be enough pigskin to go around. Together with Mayfield needing to feed Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry, maintain the RBs happy, etc.. Njoku’s numbers might be suppressed more than if he had been playing in a crime devoid of these abilities.
The TE himself noted how stacked the offense is heading right into 2019.
“We have Odell, Jarvis, (Antonio) Callaway, (Rashard)’Hollywood’ Higgins, me, Kareem Hunt, Nick Chubb, Duke Johnson, Baker Mayfield. That is just the crime,” Njoku said. “The shield is completely piled too.”
Maybe overly piled for Njoku to generate near 20 TDs, but in Cleveland that’s a good thing.

UFC 196 Betting Preview
When lightweight winner Rafael dos Anjos pulled from his second title defense against Connor McGregor 12 days ahead of the show, the UFC had choices galore.
You see, in the same way the featherweight kingpin will inform you, any card headlined by the Dubliner will be a profitable bonanza. The marketing first offered the fight to Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar, but answered the telephone.
Edgar had been coping with a groin injury that had prevented him from training for the many previous weeks, while Aldo’s coach said he wasn’t in good enough shape conditioning-wise to select the fight on this short notice.
Former 155-pound champ Anthony Pettis was one fighter volunteering his services, linking the likes of Urijah Faber and Donald’Cowboy’ Cerrone. Even B.J. Penn wanted a shot McGregor.
Nate Diaz was also more than prepared when contacted from the UFC. Dana White let the rumors to hang in the air for several hours before deciding that the interest from fans was best to get a Diaz-McGregor showdown.
McGregor had told the UFC he would fight anybody on the roster at any given weight. When Diaz’s camp suggested getting down to 155 on short note was too much, the UFC countered with a catchweight offer of 160 pounds. Diaz countered with 165.
Whenever the UFC known as’The Notorious,”’ he said let’s just take action at 170. Therefore, tonight’s main event for UFC 196 in the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas will be a five-rounder contested at welterweight. McGregor, the 145-pound champ, is moving up two weight classes.
Ad Most novels opened McGregor (19-2 MMA, 7-0 UFC) at around -300, but the chances are becoming more expensive with every passing day. As of Thursday afternoon, most places had McGregor preferred from the -450 to -500 range. Diaz was around +380 about the comeback (risk $100 to win $380).
Now that we have arrived at combat day, most places have McGregor in -500 or higher. The very best payout for Diaz overseas is at 5Dimes, which has him at +425.
The complete for’over/under’ wagers is 2.5 rounds (-200 to the’under,’ +165’over’). For those gamblers wanting to shave some of the’chalk’ yet back McGregor, the prop for him to triumph within the space doesn’t offer you much help (-278 in 5Dimes).
If you want to take McGregor’s information that he’ll dust Diaz from the opening round, that brace provides a +170 return. If you believe the pride of Ireland will make quick work of Diaz, much like his 13-second demolition of Aldo, there is a prop at 5Dimes that the battle won’t go 1:01 that supplies a lucrative +550 yield.
For McGregor to acquire by TKO/KO (in any form ), the cost is -275 (risk $275 to win $100). We should notice that Diaz hasn’t been completed at the first round in 28 professional spells.
In reality, Diaz (18-10 MMA, 13-8 UFC) has just been completed twice. He was submitted by Hermes Franca in WEC 24 at the second round, and the 209 product endured his sole livelihood TKO loss to Josh’The Punk’ Thomson in the next round of their April 2013 showdown. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc took pole position to qualifying in the Grand Prix, following a farcical end.
All motorists except Leclerc and Carlos Sainz of McLaren failed to have around after waiting to catch a slipstream to start a last lap.
The improbable climax left Leclerc on rod with his first lap, beating Lewis Hamilton by 0.039 minutes.
The other Mercedes of Valtteri Bottas was third, ahead of Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel along with the Daniel Ricciardo of Renault.
It was Leclerc’s second consecutive pole position in just seven days.
After he turned into the frontrunner that is sole to create it around the line in time at the conclusion of the 31, the 21-year-old did not have to finish a last lap.
Leclerc was greeted with cheers from the thousands of passionate Ferrari fans – the tifosi – packed into Monza.
Leclerc, who had enjoyed a rapturous reception in neighboring Milan on Wednesday at a celebration of 90 decades of this Italian Grand Prix, stated:”It seems incredible.
“Already on Wednesday in Milan was amazing and now to see a lot of people feels absolutely amazing.
“Happy with the rod but in the end there was a big wreck. I hoped for a last lap but in the long run it was enough for pole.”
The almost laughable scenes at the end were precipitated by the simple fact that a slipstream at Monza could be worth roughly 0.3secs a lap, valuable when the instances are so close to a circuit with only six powerful corners.
Hamilton said because they waited for Ferrari to run Mercedes had been caught out.
“I must be thankful I’m on the front row,” the world champion said. “We expect to get a fight with the Ferraris tomorrow. We divide it and them is a nice position to maintain. We can give a fantastic fight to them.
“It was a little anti-climax at the conclusion but it is crazy with this system we’ve got and they basically timed us out.
“On the outside lap it’s dangerous. You don’t know who’s alongside you and who’s slowing down. It is risky business but it’s enjoyable at precisely exactly the exact same moment.”
Teams had been warned that motorists may face penalties for driving gradually on their out laps and the end to qualifying has been researched by governing body the FIA.
Leclerc, Hamilton and Bottas agreed the situation was far from perfect, but said that they did not find a way out of it while the tow was really significant to some lap time.
“It’ll be until somebody crashes that they will alter it,” Hamilton stated.
The controversial conclusion to the session was fitting in some ways for a day filled with controversy and episode.
Vettel narrowly avoided using his sole real lap time in closing qualifying for abusing track limits in the Parabolica corner that was last deleted.
Red Bull’s Alexander Albon didn’t record some time on his very first run since he ran contrary to Alfa Romeo’s Kimi Raikkonen, who cried at Parabolica.
Hamilton, who had to lift in the previous corner, later saying he felt that had cost him pole and was right was delayed by the crash of raikkonen.
Along with Bottas, running Hamilton at the moment, originally had his first lap time deleted on the basis that he hadn’t made it across the line before the crimson flag for Raikkonen’s crash, only for officials to reinstate it said he had.
And Bottas escaped with his time deleted despite passing yellow flags for the crash of Raikkonen, on the grounds that he’d slow down – which he said he felt had cost him pole.
The track limits needed to be policed at Parabolica because a kerb the was inserted from moving off track, to deter the motorists needed to be removed after it established a Formula 3 car in a hurry in the afternoon right into a accident.
Australian Alex Peroni suffered a set of somersaults and spins before crashing down upside down on the obstacles.
He walked away from the wreck but was afterwards taken to hospital for further medical tests.
Vettel has now been out-qualified by Leclerc for seven races in a row and the session didn’t go his way.
After the Ferraris followed the Mercedes outside just to see the silver cars pull over at the close of the pit lane, his lap was set by him with no tow. Vettel hesitated, thought about quitting behind them, but then accelerated away.
In the circumstances, he failed to lap within 0.15secs of Leclerc.
The Monegasque explained the first plan was for Vettel to parade him on then Leclerc and the very initial runs to return the favour.
But in the turmoil of the dying moments, Vettel overtook as the cars jockeyed for position Leclerc lap.
Leclerc and Vettel passed earlier Parabolica on schooling but Vettel did not cross the line in time to do a job.
Ricciardo works nicely on this type of track and has been from the Renault, which lacks downforce but includes a solid engine in great shape.
The Australian has been 0.21secs quicker than team-mate Nico Hulkenberg, using McLaren’s Carlos Sainz eighth.
McLaren’s Carlos Sainz and red Bull’s Max Verstappen, the Daniil Kvyat of Toro Rosso will start the race from the back Because of penalties to using engines.
And Raikkonen, though he had been classified 10th, is likely to combine them.

NASCAR AT ATLANTA ODDS, PICKS 2019: MODEL SAYS CHASE ELLIOTT SURPRISES AT FOLDS OF HONOR QUIKTRIP 500
The 2019 NASCAR schedule kicks into high gear Sunday with All the 2019 Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
The green flag drops at two p.m. ET for your 325-lap race along with defending champion Kevin Harvick is the 4-1 favorite in the latest 2019 Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 chances. Falling in just behind him with 6-1 NASCAR in Atlanta chances are Joey Logano and Kyle Busch, who finished in the top four last week at the Daytona 500. Prior to making your own 2019 QuikTrip 500 selections and NASCAR at Atlanta predictions, make sure you check out the projected leaderboard from the proven computer model at SportsLine.
Produced by DFS expert and SportsLine predictive information scientist Mike McClure, this proprietary NASCAR prediction computer model simulates every race 10,000 times, taking factors like track history and current results into consideration.
It made some enormous calls in NASCAR last year, such as nailing wins for Kyle Busch in Chicago and Martin Truex Jr. at Sonoma. And it is off to a strong start in NASCAR this year, calling Daytona 500 winner Denny Hamlin a top contender from the beginning. Anyone who has followed its selections is way, way up.
McClure, who has a mechanical engineering degree, grew up around race tracks. Big events at iconic venues like Atlanta Motor Speedway are in his blood. Now his model mimicked the 2019 Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 a total of 10,000 times and the results were surprising.
For the 2019 QuikTrip 500 in Atlanta, we could inform you that the model is high on Chase Elliott, who makes a strong run at the checkered flag despite going off at 10-1 odds. Elliott does not have a lengthy history at Atlanta, but he’s had success there in all three of his starts at the track since linking the Dragon Energy NASCAR Cup Series. He’s finished inside the top 10 in each of those races and even earned a top-five end in 2017.
Before joining NASCAR’s top circuit, Elliott had two top-five endings at Atlanta in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Elliott is a Georgia native and his dad, Bill Elliott, won at NASCAR’s highest level in Atlanta Motor Speedway five times in his career, so it’s something of a home monitor for its 23-year-old. The version anticipates him to ride that advantage towards the top of the leaderboard on Sunday.
Another shocker from the model: Kyle Busch, one of the top Vegas favorites at 6-1, doesn’t crack the top five.
The 2019 Daytona 500 runner-up began on the rod in this race a year before, but ended up finishing in seventh place. The year prior, he had another fast ride in qualifying and started the race , but ended up in 16th.
Considering his win at Atlanta at 2013, Busch has just conducted 56.7 percent of his laps inside the top 15. For his career, he’s finished outside the top 10 in 13 of his 20 career starts at Atlanta Motor Speedway. There are far better values in this affluent 2019 QuikTrip 500 lineup than the 6-1 premium you’ll want to cover him.
The model can be targeting three other motorists with 2019 NASCAR at Atlanta chances of 10-1 or even more time to make a serious run at winning it all. Anybody who backs these shots could hit it big.
Point/Counterpoint: Notre Dame vs Louisville – Free NCAAF Betting Picks
Share:
Notre Dame (9) vs Louisville
Monday, September 2 nd, 8:00 PM in Cardinal Stadium
Swinging Johnson: This week Doug Upstone and leave our college football picks on the Monday night match between the Louisville Cardinals and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and then that I will deviate to dip our toes.
It will almost certainly be the very first and only time this season we do so, as the previous week of exhibition NFL football is somewhat lackluster in comparison to a regular-season sport of NCAA soccer comprising one of the best clubs in the country, and a legendary soccer program to boot, Notre Dame.
Without further ado, let us begin the discussion after my friend Doug Upstone got the better of me last week with a wager about the Steelers while the Titans were endorsed by me. Weve been placing wins back and on so it appears like it is my turn to the wreath, as I will follow the squares laying the lumber that is heavy onto a public street favorite and endorse the Irish.
After reviewing the college football odds almost six days ahead of the Monday night affair, I see the line has spiked a half-point about the preferred, opening at Notre Dame -19 1/2 to where it is currently offered in a solid -20 across the board whatsoever of the best online sportsbooks.
I like the Irish but you are currently leaning within this season-opening battle onto the Cardinals. Apart from the place do you believe Louisville can hang with the boys from South Bend?
Doug Upstone: YesSwinger, a successful win and IMO, said a great deal about the Steelers and Titans direction. Let us proceed to soccer, in which the matches count and will our recordings on this one.
Recall those Thursday night matches Louisville utilized to perform against opponents? They held their engineered and own upsets. These were fun games and also the Cardinals were an exciting club.
However, just like the former Papa Johns Stadium and its fake (in real life) owner, Louisville football last year was worse than the usual three-day-old pizza.
Scott Satterfield worked wonders in Appalachian State and will be out win matches and to change the culture. This wont happen right away as the talent level is down from theVille. However this is a moment for Louisville, a group that has the opportunity.
Ive read where the Cards coaches have sped up the slow mechanics of QB Jawon Pass (great name for a QB) and I enjoy Hassan Hall as the direct running back. Than using a ticket for the Colts at OVER 9 the defense which makes me more worried. Please do tell why youve got up your Irish.
Swinging Johnson: The Cardinals wont be doing flying in this game since the Notre Dame defense will keep them comfortable in their nest. Scott Satterfield is in the big leagues and he has a team coming from a dismal album last year where they went winless in ACC action. This rebuild is comparable to carrying a hot air balloon and trying to turn it in an F-22 Raptor.
While this may eventually happen, the problem is that Louisville is facing a group that made it into the CFP last year and owned one of the stingiest defenses in all of college football, devoting only 17.2 points within the normal season and moving a perfect 12-0 until they met Clemson in the CFP semifinals. The offense was clicking on all cylinders averaging 33 points per match over.
My question is, just how will be a quarterback like Pass whos slow to discharge, supposed to get some traction against a swarming shield? Especially when he is working with an offensive scheme and a new trainer?
Please, Doug, rescue me I am lost! I see no way, shape or form in which Louisville will be able to keep pace with the Golden Domers and Im desperate for the ancestral wisdom and handicapping experience that is prodigious!
Doug Upstone: Well, Swinger, Im happy to see in your last sentence you are coming around to the sunny side of sports betting, or youre just being the same shrewd a** you usually are. I will allow the SBR readers who are currently making college football selections decide on that. Im the first to understand Louisville fully pumped and wasnt just 2-10, however 1-11 ATS final season.
But that team COMPLETELY gave up on coach Bobby Petrino, like he gave up around the Atlanta Falcons. A fresh mindset is brought by A trainer on building a statement and with this being a game, his team will be sold by Satterfield. Louisville does have to hope never and also they will not be taken by the Irish for granted have a lot of fight.
Lets also think about, Brian Kelly using gold and all the blue is simply 10-13-1 ATS as a road favorite, also a mere 7-9-1 ATS when dishing out 20 or more digits. This defense you said might improve as the year progresses but replacing five starters, even if you dont/cant recruit like Clemson or even Bama, it is going to take time.
I was becoming a bit facetious because although you have an handicapping that was impressive resume, then you miss the mark from time to time. And in this circumstance, you happen to be shooting blanks because Louisville might be better but I would submit that they could be coached with a Rhesus monkey and improve upon their deplorable record rendered by an equally inept trainer like Petrino.
I understand that placing nearly three touchdowns on the road would be square biz for certain and Joe Q. Public never got rich by betting the heavy road chalk, but at times the people is right, and also in this instance they definitely are. Until once we get down on our NFL Game of the Week next week, let us see what happens on Monday when the Irish come ready to rumble in Louisville.
Free College Football Pick: Swinging Johnson — Notre Dame -20 (-110)
