After finishing third in stage five, italian Matteo Trentin regained the outcome of the Tour of Britain.
The 174.1km stage, which began and finished in Birkenhead with the route taking the riders through Cheshire, was obtained by Dutch driver Dylan Groenewegen.
Groenewegen finished in the Exact Same time as Britain’s Matt Walls and Trentin.

“He’s been schooling well and he’s not far off a jog. There is a strong chance he will run at (proprietor ) Roger Brookhouse’s area class, which will be Stratford, in a two-and-a-half-mile newcomer chase.
“He’ll definitely be going over fences,” he added.
“Things went against him a bit last year – that the ground was too company and we could not get out him. So we’re starting from scratch again this season and we’re going to discover a race.
“He has been schooling using Henrietta Knight and everybody is extremely delighted with him.”
Brookhouse is a key proprietor for George, with 2018 Supreme Novices’ Hurdle winner Summerville Boy in his or her care.
