The Oakland Raiders won the first NFL game.
After the game, some players spoke only concerning the experience over the week at London with Sky Sports.
Oakland topped the Bears 24-21 in a thriller, following Chicago had scored 21 right to take the lead directing a drive in the fourth quarter.
Although we now welcome the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Carolina Panthers for the game in the new NFL arena, both groups now enter their bye week.
Only moments after they had secured their success, a number of players at the Raiders locker room spoke in regards to the arena experience, the week at London, and the sport. Here are a few of the greatest answers…
Wide receiver Hunter Renfrow:Feels good to get a win. It was a rollercoaster, wasnt it? We scored they arrived back but its sort of like golf – its how you end. And we finished well.
Cornerback Gareon Conley:Feels amazing guy. Street game. It was supposed to be a home game! However, it feels great to find this team win.
Linebacker Tahir Whitehead:Man, a whole lot of feelings today but complete all Im doing good just excited happy we ended up victorious. It was a psychological match, a rollercoaster of a game but we weathered the storm
Safety Karl Joseph:We got the win! Thats all that matters.
Guard Richie Incognito:Great staff win. We were resilient. We lost a couple of guys and times responded well and had the match won. Turnover overdue but we just kept punching and got the win.
Renfrow:A great deal of pleasure. Where we played with baseball, it takes me back and we played a lot of you really bonded through those off games and games away.
I really feel like this week we will look back in the year and think:that has been the week we sort of came together as a team. We certainly took some steps, although we didnt figure out it.
[Being away from home for long] has helped just with the camaraderie because we have not seen our homes for a week and a half/two weeks and then weve got four more road games coming up. So its only a excellent time to bond and have ourselves as our own family.
Conley:It was tough adapting to this time zone. Im still tired. But it is what it is, you have to get through it, youve got to practice tough you put a play hard and come along and find a way to win
Dakota Allen:It had been quite different. Getting accustomed to the time shift, another location and what but I feel as though we actually prepared well this whole week and I feel like thats the reason the outcome was exactly what it was and I give credit to the coaches and my teammates for that.
It required a couple of days to adapt to this jet lag and only to be able to sleep a full night but once we all got adjusted, we were all focused.
Whitehead:Coming into London early undoubtedly helped. This past year , we felt as if we had been dragging this season being out here for a week and a little only hoping to get fast corrected, this helped with getting adjusted to what and getting on this point zone. Id undoubtedly say coming early helped a lot.
Incognito:Last week [with all the Bills in 2017] we came out first and did the exact same excursion – we remained for the entire week. I really think is advantageous. It is great to get over here and combat that jet lag and become rehydrated and get a few days to decompress rather than arriving in last minute and needing to go.
Linebacker Nicholas Morrow:Londons cool guy. Me shocked. It reminds me of school because I had been in the midwest [Greenville, Illinois]. Its like material and cold but it was glowing that morning! Therefore it was very beautiful and it is a wonderful speed and I enjoy it
Cornerback Daryl Worley:It was definitely something fresh. To maintain another country for a whole week, eight-hour single gap – most guys feel like their bodies never adjusted but we felt as though we had the upper hand only coming out early, getting our practices away, getting used to the weather and what like that, so everything was really great.
Renfrow:Stay optimistic, remain positive. Just control what you can command and move out there and attempt to score points on crime.
Allen:We just had to return to what people do. Very similar to what we did in the first half. Key our keys, do our job and that I feel like thats what we did towards the end when we ended up and got the win.
Conley:There is not anything really special to state, you just come together as a team and stay in it. Its a four-quarter game and until the clock strikes zero, you just stay inside. Each play is anext play mindset
Whitehead:Keep your head in it. Do not get too cluttered. Simply do your job. Dont start going off the deep end and making up things, just stick to the game program and that is exactly what we did and we were able to create those stops as it relied.
Running back DeAndre Washington:Stay composed. We knew going into the game, it was going to be hard-fought. Credit to [the Bears], thats one of the best teams on the planet. We knew it was not likely to be simple so the whole time, we only told guys and even just commented in half-time:just stay ready, you know they are going to make their conduct, we just have to weather the storm and ensure we finish.
Incognito:Just keep swinging. Just keep running the ball. We were moving the ball well on them, we were with success, picking up first downs so we knew if we went outside and played our match and got another opportunitywe can go and get it done. We needed a fake punt to get that 97-yard drive done but hey, we got it and punched it in the corner and we are leaving with a win against a terrific team.
Morrow:Were simply telling each other its exactly the exact identical team we were playing against in the first half. We knew what we could do. We needed to settle in. We needed to deal with some short fields with the turnover and the reunite but I believe we came together and demonstrated that we could play together and also make stops when it mattered.
Worley:The greatest thing was that people understood it was not going to be easy with a team like that – that they are Super Bowl contenders. We understood their defense was going to play in a high clip, they were going to make plays, we were planning to make plays and at the conclusion of the day we just had to keep fighting and remain together.
Whitehead:The air was electric and the stadium, it had been more romantic between the fans and the sport. Last year in the lovers Wembley and everything looked much farther away so youre not interacting together. I believe this stadium is awesome so far as engaging the lovers.
Joseph:The stadium is amazing, man. I arrived here to watch Tottenham along with Bayern Munich and that was a game that was wonderful also. It is a gorgeous stadium.
Washington:It was amazing, man. I had a nightmare of a while in London! It looked like it was more Chicago lovers out there, but the atmosphere was amazing so I certainly enjoyed myself
Incognito:Excellent. It was amazing. There were a lot of fans the area, however, the scene, the locker room, its first class. It really is. Plus it was great to be a part of it
Morrow:The scenes great man, that the turf is great, it was loudly. Its large, its enormous. It was great, I loved it.
Worley:It was wonderful. Notably the area, acquiring the turf there and all – that was a significant difference from this past year. The fans were so loud. It felt like more than that to be only 60,000 individuals in there. It was wonderful.
