Max Scherzer is a great pitcher. He is a three-time Cy Young winner, so making each of the seven All-Star teams while posting a set of no-hitters plus a match. Very nice. 1 problem, however: Scherzer plays with the Washington Nationals, and his skills have been wasted on them. The Nats are just 9-11 behind their ace this year to get a shortage of 10.89 betting units — just Jacob deGrom (minus-14.43 units) along with Chris Sale (minus-19.31 units) have lost more.
At least Scherzers in great company. And hes apparently in good health; Scherzer is expected to make his return from the injured list this Thursday (7:05 PM ET, MLBN) if the Nationals visit Steven Brault along with the Pittsburgh Pirates. After he missed the previous month of activity this could be a fantastic place to fade the Nats and Scherzer to our MLB selections. Whether the amounts agree, lets see.
