Lionel Messi doubts Barcelona commitment to Neymar return

Lionel Messi confessed he doesn’t believe Barcelona did”all they might” to deliver Neymar back to Spain from Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
Neymar was the topic of those longest-running move sagas of this summertime, together using the Brazilian appearing set to come back to Catalonia two decades later leaving for a world-record fee.
However, Sky Sports News reported two weeks ago that PSG’s unwillingness to reduce their evaluation, despite Neymar’s offer to pay #17.7m ($20m) towards securing a deal, ensured the movement failed to materialise.
Messi, who formed an attacking triumvirate that was exhilarating in Barcelona using Neymar and Luis Suarez, would have liked to have seen that the trio link up .
“I would have liked for Neymar to have returned” Messi told Spanish publication Sport. “Honestly, I’m not positive if Barca did whatever they could to signal him but I know it is hard to negotiate with PSG.
“I am not disappointed. We’ve got a stunning squad that could challenge for everybody, despite Ney.
“Neymar is among the best on earth. With his level and sponsors, it would have been a large gain for the team .”
Messi is under contract in Barca before 2021 but has a clause added in his deal that could see him leave the Nou Camp for nothing from the season’s close.
On the other hand, the team have reiterated that they remain confident their inspirational captain will stay beyond the summertime, and Messi himself affirmed that he doesn’t have plans.
“Barcelona is my home and I do not want to depart,” Messi additional. “But I would like to win. I wish to win the Champions League, it has been a very long time since we won it.”

Arsenal 1-0 Bournemouth: David Luiz header sees Gunners up to third

Arsenal vs Bmouth
Premier League
2:00pm Sunday October

Emirates Stadium
(Att: 60326)

David Luiz header proved sufficient for Arsenal to beat Bournemouth and proceed up to third in the Premier League.
The Brazilian netted his first Arsenal goal directing Nicolas Pepes corner, on nine minutes past Aaron Ramsdale and into the back of the web.
In a match short of uncomplicated opportunities and quality from the final next, neitherkeeper suffered busy afternoons since Callum Wilson came closest to equalising to Bournemouth only to watch Calum Chambers hack his campaign off.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang hit the post at the death, but only one goal was the Gunners needed to move up to third in the Premier League on 15 points, while Bournemouth sit 10th with 11 points.
Aubameyang had narrowly missed the underside corner with a bending attempt when Arsenal took the lead with all the simplest of goals, making the most of non profit Bournemouth defending. Pepe whipped in the corner, Luiz lost his mark and also guided the ball inside the post that was back.
Bournemouth were slow for much of the first half yet should have equalised. Dominic Solanke failed to locate the target with a header from Diego Ricos free-kick to the box under 10 minutes.
As Pepe went while VAR twice had a look at Arsenal penalty appeals aubameyang needed a goalbound shot well-blocked on the line. Neither of the conclusions of Martin Atkinson were overturned.
Arsenal had failed to create Bournemouths display before half-time and the most of their ownership, plus they nearly paid the price for that five minutes after the break.
Wilson drove right into the box and beat Luiz, as he hurried off his line until rounding Bernd Leno. In a tight angle, square and Wilson decided to try the ball for Josh King instead of shooting and Chambers got a brilliant clearance in.
The second half was a much more even affair as Bournemouth upped their game. Jack Stacey forced Leno into clawing a cross away from his leading pole as both sides struggled to create opportunities and really test the keepers.
Steve Cook could not keep his header from a corner down in the last minute of normal time, while Aubameyang struck the post because he got on the end of Chambers non cross – replays showed hed have been offside.
Wilson fired directly by the edge of their box and Arsenal held on for an important win.
Right-back might not be seen by calum Chambers because his preferred position but he put in an display. As Josh King appeared to pounce Callum Wilsons cross and then deliver Bournemouth degree the highlight was that the very important clearance. In addition, he provided an outlet going forward and put the ball on a plate for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, only for the striker to reach the pole.
Conclusion Arsenal have won all six of the home games in all competitions from Bournemouth – only against Gainsborough Trinity (eight wins from eight) do they have a better 100%-house win ratio in their entire history.
O Bournemouth have lost 13 of their last 14 away Premier League games from thebig six teams (W1 D0 L13).
O Only against Man City (9) have Bournemouth dropped more Premier League games than against Arsenal (7).
Decision Bournemouth have won not one of the past 25 Premier League matches when conceding first (W0 D5 L20).
Following the break, Arsenal journey to Sheffield United on Monday Night Football, live on Sky Sports Premier League. Bournemouth host newly-promoted Norwich City on Saturday, October 19.

2019 Kentucky Derby odds, best predictions: Expert who has nailed 9 Derby-Oaks Doubles releases picks

The 2019 Kentucky Derby area is down to 19 following Gotham Stakes winner and double-digit longshot Haikal scratched from the race on Friday morning having a foot abscess. He is the next horse to withdraw from Saturday’s 2019 Kentucky Derby, as Omaha Beach, the morning-line favored, scratched on Wednesday with a breathing issue. This will be the first time since 2015 the Run for the Roses will possess less than a full field of 20. The latest 2019 Kentucky Derby weather is calling for a soggy day in Churchill Downs, with rain chances over 70 percent ahead of the 6:46 p.m. ET post time. Three brothers trained by Bob Baffert are among the top favorites: Game Winner (6-1), Improbable (5-1) and Roadster (9-1). On the other hand, the total preferred is Maximum Security, who is listed at 9-2 in the current 2019 Kentucky Derby odds after fetching 10-1 on the morning . With weather playing a element in horse racing’s most prestigious event, you will want to listen to what SportsLine’s Jody Demling must state before inputting some 2019 Kentucky Derby picks and predictions of your own.
A fixture in the horse racing world that has been writing about, speaking about and gambling on races for decades, Demling comes into the Kentucky Derby 2019 on a mind boggling streak: He has struck the Derby-Oaks twice at Churchill Downs nine of their last ten decades. Meaning he held a ticket using all the winners of the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks nine occasions in the last ten years.
The Derby is just a part of an extremely successful betting career for Demling, who also nailed his ninth Preakness winner in 14 years in Pimlico last May. He followed that up by predicting Justify’s groundbreaking success in the Belmont Stakes, as well as calling the winners of the Haskell Invitational, Pennsylvania Derby and Lecomte Stakes, just to name a few. In addition, he hit the past year’s Arkansas Derby and Louisiana Derby.
Demling nailed the superfecta in this year’s Pegasus World Cup to get a 678 payout on a $1 bet. He also hit the superfecta at the Robert B. Lewis Stakes and picked the winner of the Risen Star Stakes in February,” War of Will. In addition, he hit the exacta, trifecta, and superfecta at this year’s Arkansas Derby, the final Kentucky Derby prep race. Anyone who has followed closely is up enormous.
Now, with all the 2019 Kentucky Derby lineup set, Demling is sharing his own selections at SportsLine. We can tell you he wants no part of Roadster, among the top Vegas favorites in 9-1 Kentucky Derby chances. In reality, he states Roadster doesn’t even crack the top five. Though the Baffert trainee is coming from a gutsy half-length win in the Santa Anita Derby over stablemate Sport Winner, Roadster ran 38 feet less than Game Winner, who was wide on both turns. On Tuesday, Roadster drew post No. 17 for its Derby, which might cause a much wider trip than the one he’d at Santa Anita. That could spell danger for anyone opting to pay the 9-1 premium he is controlling.
Additionally, Hall of Fame jockey Mike Smith passed on the Chance to ride Roadster from the Kentucky Derby to leap on Omaha Beach. Smith will be substituted by Florent Geroux, who will be driving Roadster for the very first time.
Instead, Demling is high on War Will, a long shot at 17-1. War of Will vaulted to close the top of early-season Kentucky Derby 2019 positions after winning the Lecomte Stakes and Risen Star Stakes in New Orleans. In his next race, the Louisiana Derby, he stumbled out of the starting gates and finished ninth. Ever since then, however, the horse has coached brilliantly, and coach Mark Casse says War of Will is all systems go. Observing this week’s post draw, he told reporters,”Our horse is actually on his game, so he will come off from the inner post running.”
The scrape of Haikal assists War of Will. He’ll now leave from article No. 2 rather than the dreaded post No. 1, that often is the casualty of the crush of horses by the outside moving to the rail trying to save ground. Though no horse has gained out of the No. 2 post because 1978, the extra room between War Will and the railroad will make a significant difference.
Demling is particularly high on a monumental long shot that would net any backer a colossal windfall. Demling is sharing which horse it is, along with his entire projected leaderboard, over at SportsLine.

Hue Jackson wants another chance as head coach

After compiling a dreadful record with the Cleveland Browns, Hue Jackson is without an NFL gig for the 2019 season. Given his 3-36-1 record in two and a half seasons in Cleveland along with the odd 8-8 year with the Oakland Raiders in 2011, it would seem Jackson will be tough to convince an owner to give him a second shot.
The Browns and Raiders manager told WFNZ Charlotte on Wednesday he thinks that he can be a head coach.
LATEST ANALYSIS
??? Team fits for top staying FAs
??? Ranking deepest position groups
??? NFL triplets rankings: Who’s No. 1?
??? NFC West primer: Camp questions ??? Rank: Can Redskins surprise?
“Oh, yeah, I mean I think I could,” Jackson explained, through Professional Football Talk. “I mean, simply because the problem in Cleveland [didn’t work out] does not indicate that you can’t coach. There is a lot of coaches who arrived and did great things. Sometimes, the situation differs. I think if people dig in and actually take some time to examine the total situation there, perhaps they’d know it more. At the exact same time, I understand what narrative gets put out there, that is what people know. Hopefully, folks will think back to the times when I’ve put myself in that place. I had to do something right. To go back and be a planner again or be a head coach, I do believe it’s in my future. I have just got to go work through the procedure and see where it belongs .”
Jackson interviewed for the Cincinnati Bengals coaching gig this offseason and the Arizona Cardinals offensive coordinator job. was landed by him.
Once seen as the prime candidate to succeed Marvin Lewis in Cincinnati, Jackson’s public standing got ripped to shreds through his stint at Cleveland. The stench of this 0-16 season will follow him everywhere. The record is poor enough to make it difficult for an owner to sell him to the general public. Worse compared to 3 wins in Cleveland could be quarterback Baker Mayfield’s very public rebuke of Jackson’s design — something owners would be aware of and weigh heavily — and also the troubling back-and-forth meetings revealed throughout HBO’s Hard Knocks final training camp.
Yet it only takes one team, and one owner to be certain that the situation had to do with Jackson’s bad tenure than his ability to coach.
“Here’s a guy who knows how to overcome,” Jackson said when asked his story. “There’s a great deal of people who’d run from it all. I am not likely to run out of it. At the end of the day, our staff and the individuals who headed Cleveland, that doesn’t mean those coaches can not coach or they do not understand what they’re doing. Maybe that just wasn’t the right match, the ideal situation for this group, and they simply should have the right chance to have success.”
Jackson would likely need to do heavy image rehab, starting with landing a lower-level training gig in order for a team to even consider giving him a second shot. At a league where coaches are constantly recycled, perhaps there’s a possibility for the 53-year-old to build up his crippled picture. It is going to take a lot of time, and a huge sell job to the public for that to happen. Even then, it’d be a stunner when Jackson landed a second head coaching gig in the NFL.

Is It True that Hot Water Freezes Faster than Cold Water or that Cold Water Boils Faster than Hot Water?

This simple question continues to generate controversy. Takamasa Takahashi, a physicist at St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wis., tries a definitive answer:
“Cold water doesn’t boil quicker than hot water. The rate of heating of a liquid depends on the size of the temperature difference between the liquid and its environment (the flame on the stove, for example ). Because of this, cold water will soon be absorbing heat faster while it’s still cold; after it becomes up to the warmth of hot water, the heating rate slows down and from that point it takes as long to deliver it to a boil since the water that was hot to begin with. As it requires cold water a while to reach the temperature of hot water, cold water clearly takes longer to boil than warm water does. There may be some psychological impact at play; chilly water starts boiling sooner than one might expect due to the aforementioned higher heat absorption rate when water is colder.
“To the first part of the question–‘Does hot water freeze faster than cold water?’ –the response is’Not generally, but maybe under specific conditions.’ It takes 540 calories to vaporize one g of water, whereas it requires 100 calories to bring one gram of liquid water from 0 degrees Celsius to 100 degrees C. When water is warmer than 80 degrees C, the rate of cooling by rapid vaporization is very high because every evaporating g draws at least 540 calories in the water left behind. This is a really large quantity of heat as well as the one calorie per Celsius degree that is drawn from each gram of water that cools by regular thermal conduction.
“It all is dependent upon how quickly the cooling happens, and it ends up that hot water will not freeze until cold water but will freeze until lukewarm water. Water at 100 degrees C, by way of instance, will freeze until water warmer than 60 degrees C but not before water cooler than 60 degrees C. This phenomenon is particularly evident once the surface area that cools by accelerated evaporation is large compared with the amount of water involved, like when you wash a car with warm water on a cold winter day. [For reference, look at Conceptual Physics, by Paul G. Hewitt (HarperCollins, 1993).]
“Another situation where warm water may freeze quicker is when a bowl of cold water along with a pan of hot water of equal mass are placed in a freezer . There is the effect of evaporation mentioned previously, and also the thermal contact with an freezer shelf will cool the bottom region of the entire body of water. If water is cold enough, near four degrees C (the temperature where water is densest), subsequently near-freezing water in the base increases into the surface. Convection currents will continue until the entire body of water is 0 degrees C, at which point each of the water eventually freezes. If the water is hot, cooled water in the base is thicker than the warm water on very top, so no convection will happen and the base part will start freezing while the surface remains warm. This effect, together with the evaporation impact, may make hot water freeze faster than cold water in some cases. In this case, naturally, the freezer will have worked harder during the given time period, extracting more heat from warm water.”
Robert Ehrlich of George Mason University, in Fairfax, Va., adds to some of the points made by Takahashi:
“There are two ways in which warm water could freeze faster than cold water. 1 way [described in Jearl Walker’s novel The Flying Circus of Physics (Wiley, 1975)] depends on the fact that hot water evaporates faster, so that if you began with equivalent masses of warm and cold water, then there would soon be of the hot water to freeze, and hence it might hamper the chilly water and freeze , because the lower the mass, the shorter the freezing time. Another way it could happen (in the case of a flat-bottomed dish of water set in a freezer) is if the warm water melts the ice below the bottom of the dish, resulting in a superior thermal contact when it refreezes.”

Is It True that Hot Water Freezes Faster than Cold Water or that Cold Water Boils Faster than Hot Water?

This apparently simple question continues to generate substantial controversy. Takamasa Takahashi, a physicist at St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wis., tries a definitive response:
“Cold water doesn’t boil faster than hot water. The rate of heating of a liquid is dependent upon the size of the temperature difference between the liquid and its surroundings (the fire on the stove, for instance). As a result, cold water will be absorbing heat quicker while it’s still cold; after it gets up to the warmth of hot water, then the heating rate slows down and from that point it takes just as long to bring it to a boil as the water that was warm to begin with. Because it requires cold water some time to reach the temperature of warm water, cold water obviously takes longer to boil than hot water does. [For reference, consider Conceptual Physics, by Paul G. Hewitt (HarperCollins, 1993).]
“Another situation where warm water may freeze faster is when a bowl of cold water along with a pan of hot water of equivalent mass are placed in a freezer compartment. There is the effect of evaporation mentioned above, and also the thermal contact with an freezer shelf will cool the bottom region of the body of water. If water is chilly, close to four degrees C (the temperature at which water is densest), subsequently near-freezing water in the bottom increases into the surface. Convection currents will last until the entire body of water is 0 degrees C, at which point all the water eventually freezes. If the water is initially hot, cooled water in the base is denser than the warm water on top, therefore no convection will happen and the bottom part begins freezing while the top is still warm. This effect, together with the evaporation impact, can make hot water freeze faster than cold water sometimes. In cases like this, naturally, the freezer will probably have worked harder throughout the given time period, extracting more heat from warm water.”
Robert Ehrlich of George Mason University, in Fairfax, Va., adds to some of the things made by Takahashi:
“There are just two ways in which warm water could freeze faster than cold water. 1 way [clarified in Jearl Walker’s book The Flying Circus of Physics (Wiley, 1975)] depends on the fact that warm water disappears faster, so that if you began with equal masses of warm and cold water, there would soon be less of the warm water to freeze, and therefore it might overtake the cold water and freeze first, because the lower the bulk, the briefer the freezing time. The other way it could occur (in the event of a flat-bottomed dish of water placed in a freezer) is if the hot water melts the ice below the base of the dish, leading to a superior thermal contact when it refreezes.”

As it takes cold water some time to make it to the temperature of hot water, cold water obviously takes longer to boil than hot water does. There can be some psychological effect at play; chilly water begins boiling earlier than one might expect because of the aforementioned greater heat absorption speed when water is colder.
“To the first part of the question–‘Does hot water freeze faster than cold water?’ –the response is’Not usually, but possibly under certain conditions.’ It takes 540 calories to vaporize one g of water, whereas it requires 100 calories to bring 1 gram of liquid water from 0 degrees Celsius to 100 degrees C. When water is hotter than 80 degrees C, the rate of cooling by rapid vaporization is very high because every evaporating gram attracts at least 540 calories in the water left behind. This is a very large amount of heat compared with the one calorie per Celsius degree that’s drawn from every gram of water that cools by regular thermal conduction.
“It all is dependent upon how fast the cooling occurs, and it ends up that hot water will not freeze before chilly water but will freeze before lukewarm water. Water at 100 degrees C, for instance, will freeze until water warmer than 60 degrees C but not before water cooler than 60 degrees C. This phenomenon is especially evident when the surface area that cools by rapid evaporation is substantial compared with the total amount of water involved, such as if you wash a car with warm water on a chilly winter day. [For reference, look at Conceptual Physics, by Paul G. Hewitt (HarperCollins, 1993).]
“Another situation in which hot water may freeze faster is when a bowl of cold water and a pan of hot water of equal mass are set in a freezer . There’s the effect of evaporation mentioned above, as well as the thermal contact with the freezer will cool the base part of the entire body of water. If water is cold enough, close to four degrees C (the temperature at which water is densest), subsequently near-freezing water in the bottom will rise to the top. Convection currents will continue until the entire body of water is 0 degrees C, at which time each of the water finally freezes. If the water is initially hot, cooled water in the base is denser than the hot water at the top, so no convection will happen and the bottom part will start freezing while the top remains warm. This effect, combined with the evaporation impact, can make hot water freeze faster than cold water in some cases. In cases like this, naturally, the freezer will probably have worked harder during the specified amount of time, extracting more heat from warm water.”
Robert Ehrlich of George Mason University, in Fairfax, Va., adds to some of the points made by Takahashi:
“There are two ways in which hot water could freeze faster than cold water. One way [described in Jearl Walker’s novel The Flying Circus of Physics (Wiley, 1975)] is determined by the fact that warm water disappears faster, so if you began with equivalent masses of hot and cold water, then there will soon be less of the hot water to freeze, and hence it would overtake the chilly water and freeze first, because the lesser the bulk, the shorter the freezing time. The other way it could happen (in the case of a flat-bottomed dish of water placed in a freezer) is if the warm water melts the ice below the bottom of the dish, then resulting in a superior thermal contact when it refreezes.”

Is It True that Hot Water Freezes Faster than Cold Water or that Cold Water Boils Faster than Hot Water?

This apparently simple question continues to generate substantial controversy. Takamasa Takahashi, a physicist at St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wis., attempts a definitive response:
“Cold water doesn’t boil quicker than warm water. The rate of heating of a liquid depends on the size of the temperature difference between the liquid and its surroundings (the flame on the stove, for example ). As a result, cold water will be consuming heat faster while it is still cold; once it becomes up to the warmth of hot water, the heating rate slows down and from there it takes as long to bring it to a boil since the water that was warm to start with. Because it takes cold water some time to reach the temperature of hot water, cold water clearly takes longer to boil than warm water does. There can be some psychological impact at play; chilly water begins boiling sooner than you might expect because of the aforementioned higher heat absorption rate when water is colder.

Water at 100 degrees C, by way of instance, will freeze before water warmer than 60 degrees C but not before water cooler than 60 degrees C. This phenomenon is particularly evident when the surface region which cools by accelerated evaporation is substantial compared with the amount of water required, like if you wash a car with warm water on a chilly winter day. [For reference, consider Conceptual Physics, by Paul G. Hewitt (HarperCollins, 1993).]
“Another situation where hot water may freeze faster is when a bowl of cold water along with a pan of warm water of equivalent mass are set in a freezer compartment. There’s the impact of evaporation mentioned above, and also the thermal contact with the freezer shelf will cool the bottom region of the entire body of water. If water is cold enough, close to four degrees C (the temperature at which water is densest), subsequently near-freezing water at the bottom will rise to the top. Convection currents will last until the entire body of water is 0 degrees C, at which time all the water finally freezes. If the water is initially hot, cooled water at the bottom is thicker than the hot water on top, therefore no convection will occur and the bottom part begins freezing while the top remains warm. This effect, combined with the evaporation effect, may create hot water freeze faster than cold water sometimes. In cases like this, naturally, the freezer will probably have worked harder during the specified amount of time, extracting more heat from warm water.”
