HIGHLIGHTING HEADLINES IN MMA (AUGUST 20, 2017)

12-fight UFC veteran Sam Sicilia Newest to sign multi-fight Bellator contract

Good on him! Dropping a unanimous decision to promotional newcomer Gavin Tucker in UFC Fight Night 105 back in October, Sicilia fell to a three-fight losing skid in the UFC and obtained his pink slip from the promotion. I like he’s found a new house using Bellator, and an equally good or better cash back. Win or lose, the Washington native always shows up to fight and seems for the finish. Congratulations to Sammy Dubs because of his new arrangement, and best of luck on his new chapter.
Frank Mir agrees to deal with Bellator MMA
Nice! The UFC did exactly the ideal thing and published Mir out of his contract, which enabled Bellator to sweep him up. My guess is that they promised him a matchup from Fedor Emalianenko, which made him pick Bellator over competing promotions. I like this move by Mir and anticipate seeing him inside the Bellator cage. The Fedor matchup would certainly be an interesting one.
Cris Cyborg: Holly Holm’is gonna run in the ring, but I’m gont find her’
OOHHHHHH SHIIIIIIIIT.
Artem Lobov reacts to’emotional mess’ Paulie Malignaggi:’I will box the ears off him’
LOL Chill, bro. Go watch your fight against MMA boxer Alex White. ‘Nuff said.
NAC approves milder gloves for Mayweather vs. McGregor
This was certainly some astonishing news. Two ounces is not much, but I think it makes somewhat of a difference.
Dillashaw: Mighty Mouse has been’consolation prize’
TJ Dillashaw is finally set to face UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt in UFC 217 in nyc on November 4th, and the main reason this title fight is now happening is since UFC flyweight champion Demetrious”Mighty Mouse” Johnson refused to defend his title against Dillashaw if Garbrandt was forced from the UFC 209 contest because of injury. The Duane Ludwig-trained fighter understands that Johnson wasn’t confident in himself to take the challenge. Talking to MMA Junkie Radio, Dillashaw said that the Gabrandt struggle is what he wanted all along and that the Johnson matchup was only a backup program. He knows that is not a fantastic fight for him and wouldn’t accept it,” Dillashaw said. “He is real worried about this document that he needs to break. Go on and let him do that, I guess.”
White: Ferguson, Lee to struggle for interim lightweight title Alright, now we are talking! Early popular consensus is that Ferguson will handily defeat Lee, but I’m not so convinced. Lee has been quite impressive as of late, and I like seeing his growth within the Octagon. That is a matchup I’m excited about visiting, and win or lose, I hope Lee doesn’t suffer any injuries so he’ll make a quick turnaround for December’s UFC 218 in his native Detroit, that will be two weeks following the Ferguson bout.
Paulo Borrachinha Costa: ‘I Will Knock Out Johny Hendricks’
Yeah, we’ll see about that, Paulito.
Can Former Invicta Champ Tonya Evinger Deserve a UFC Bantamweight Title Shot?
Why not? The branch isn’t exactly stacked with potential contenders.
McGregor’100 percent’ considers himself the UFC 145-pound champ
LOL Quit playingwith, Connie.
Diego Sanchez yields to welterweight, meets Matt Brown at UFC Fight Night 120
No, Diego, Nooooo!!!!! Say it is not so! Just call it stops, my dude. Hang them up gloves. It is time. You do not need to be jumping back up to 170 pounds when you’re recently analyzing the waters at 145. Do not stick around for the money, man, the brain damage won’t be worth it.

Point/Counterpoint: Notre Dame vs Louisville – Free NCAAF Betting Picks

Notre Dame (9) vs Louisville
Monday, September 2 nd, 8:00 PM at Cardinal Stadium
Swinging Johnson: This week Doug Upstone and leave our school football selections on the Monday night game between the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Louisville Cardinals and then I shall detract from our regularly scheduled plan of NFL debate to dip our toes.
It will most likely be the first and only time this season we do this, as the last week of exhibition NFL soccer is somewhat lackluster compared to some regular-season game of NCAA soccer comprising one of the very best teams in the nation, plus a legendary football program to boot, Notre Dame.
Without further ado, let us begin the debate after my friend Doug Upstone got the best of me last week while the Titans were endorsed by me. Weve been placing wins back and forth so it looks like its my turn to the wreath, as I heartily endorse the Irish and will follow the squares laying the lumber that is heavy onto a street favorite.
After reviewing the school football odds almost six days prior to this Monday night event, I see the lineup has spiked a half-point on the preferred, starting at Notre Dame -19 1/2 to where it is currently offered at a solid -20 round the board at all of the best internet sportsbooks.
I love the Irish but youre currently leaning in this season-opening battle on the Cardinals. Apart from the place, why is it that you think Louisville could hang with the boys in South Bend?
Doug Upstone: Yup Swinger, a triumph and IMO, it said a lot about the Steelers and Titans management. Lets proceed to real soccer, will our recordings on this one and in which the matches rely.
Remember Louisville used to play against competitions that are big-name? They held their engineered and own many upsets. These were enjoyable games to watch and the Cardinals were an exciting club.
But for example the former Papa Johns Stadium and its phony (in real life) proprietor, Louisville soccer last year was worse than a three-day-old pizza.
Scott Satterfield worked wonders in Appalachian State and are out to alter the civilization and win games. This wont happen immediately as the talent level is down in theVille. This is a huge time for Louisville, a team which has the chance to begin taking steps in the right direction.
I have read where the Cards coaches have popped up the slow mechanics of QB Jawon Pass (great name for a QB) and I enjoy Hassan Hall as the direct running back. Than using a ticket for the Colts at OVER 9 for season wins the defense, well, that makes me more worried. You have up your Irish please do tell.
Swinging Johnson: The Cardinals will not be doing flying into this game since the Notre Dame defense will keep them cozy in their nest. Scott Satterfield is currently in the big leagues and he has a group coming from a dismal record last year where they went winless in ACC action. This rebuild is akin to taking a hot air balloon and attempting to turn it.
While that may eventually occur, the problem is that Louisville is facing a team that made it to the CFP this past year and possessed only one of the stingiest defenses in all of college football, devoting only 17.2 points within the normal season and moving a perfect 12-0 until they fulfilled Clemson in the CFP semifinals. The offense clicked on all cylinders averaging over 33 points per match.
So, my issue is, just how is a quarterback like Pass whos slow to discharge, supposed to obtain any traction against a swarming Irish defense? Especially when he is working with an offensive scheme that is entirely new and a trainer?
Please, Doug, save me Im lost! I find no way, shape or form in which Louisville will be able to keep up with the Golden Domers and Im desperate to the brand new wisdom and handicapping expertise that is prodigious!
Doug Upstone: Well, Swinger, Im pleased to see in your last sentence you are coming on to the sunny side of sport gambling, or youre just being the same shrewd a** you usually are. Ill allow the SBR readers that are making school football picks decide on this. I am the first to realize Louisville was 1-11 ATS, although not only 2-10 and sucked final season.
But that team COMPLETELY gave up on coach Bobby Petrino, just like he gave up about the Atlanta Falcons. A fresh mindset is brought by A trainer and with this being a federal game, Satterfield will sell his team on building a statement. Louisville does have to hope the Irish will take them for granted and not have a lot of fight.
Lets also think about, Brian Kelly with gold and the blue is ATS as a road favorite, also when dishing out 20 or more specimens, a mere 7-9-1 ATS. That defense you said might improve as the year progresses but replacing five starters, even whenever you dont/can not recruit like Bama or even Clemson, it is going to take some time.
Swinging Johnson: Well Doug, I was a bit facetious because though youve got an impressive handicapping restart, then you miss the mark from time to time. And in this scenario, you happen to be shooting, since Louisville might be better than last year but I would submit that they could be trained by a Rhesus monkey and enhance upon their deplorable document left by an equally inept coach such as Petrino.
I understand that laying nearly three touchdowns on the road would be square biz for certain along with Joe Q. Public never got rich by betting the heavy street chalk, but on occasion the public is right, and in this case they surely are. Until when we get down on our NFL Game of the Week, next week, let us see what happens on Monday night when the Irish come ready to squint at Louisville.
Free College Football Pick: Swinging Johnson — Notre Dame -20 (-110)
Free College Football Pick: Doug Upstone — Louisville +20 (-110)

Will Jonathan Taylor Surpass 2,000 Rushing Yards Again?

Share:

BetOnline place Taylors over/under for rushing yards this season at 2,000. Surpassing that number isnt easy, he was the only player in the nation that did it and just two players rushed for over 2,000 yards in a season between 2014 and 2017.
The Wisconsin offensive line will be strong but last years starting quarterback Alex Hornibrook moved to Florida State, that will be addition by subtraction for their game, decreasing Taylors amount of carries.
The weakness in Taylors sport is the receiving skills. Taylor has only 16 catches in 27 career games since Graham Mertz and Jack Coan are both better quarterbacks compared to Alex Hornibrook but that overall ought to go up and hes been focusing on improving his catching ability this offseason.
Taylors total grabs will go up this year, because it helps him bypass his senior season and go into the 2020 NFL Draft getting a threat in the passing game issues to him and that amount going up, hell run. Im carrying 2,000 rushing yards this past year to be finished with under by Taylor.

Golf Future Odds

How To Bet Golf Futures

The”Odds to Win” wager in golf is quite simple to comprehend. Put simply, you just need to select the golfer which will capture the success. You select any of those golfers in the championship and your payout for the wager will be contingent on the likelihood given in the time of the bet. This bet can be placed until the race begins.
To work out your Win Amount, consider the chances and multiply by the amount payable. Ex. Jason Day (10/1) – Jason Day is listed as a 10/1 betting choice. If you bet $100 on Day to win the event and he comes in first, then you would win $1,000 (5 ?? 2 x 100). You’d collect $1,100, which includes your win and stake ($100).
What exactly does the FIELD mean? Many golf tournaments will include a gambling selection. This bet consists of all golfers not listed in the”Odds to Win.” Most races have a set number of golfers but it’s rare to observe oddsmakers set a price on each golfer that will tee . Golfers which are given the least opportunity to win the championship will be grouped into the”Field” chances and paid out so if they win.

Rugby World Cup: The Dos and Don’ts Guide for Japan

When the Rugby World Cup kicks off with a game between the hosts and Russia at Tokyo, which communicates the beginning of what should be an amazing 12 months to its 42, japan will be in the sporting spotlight from Friday.
The marriage’s prestige championship has been held in Asia for the very first time, together with the eight editions being shared between powerhouse southern hemisphere nations New Zealand, Australia and South Africa in addition to countries around Europe.
With Tokyo also hosting the 2020 Olympic Games following July and August, it begins a busy 12 months for game in Japan.
But thousands of union fans from all over the world will converge on Japan throughout a series of venues.
Japan provides a warm welcome to visitors, but it’s never a bad idea to have to know a number of the country’s unique customs add to what will surely be a thrilling sporting encounter and also to show respect to the hosts. . .so here is our Dos and guide.
DO bow your head when meeting someone it’s their form of a greeting card. It’s not necessary to feel awkward, so just follow the lead if you aren’t certain for how long or just how much you’ve got to bow your head, of the individual that you are meeting.
Till your Japanese man offers their hand DO N’T offer to shake hands. The bowing of the mind is the Japanese greeting.
If proper DO try and use chopsticks. Most Japanese will be very pleased to see a visitor try to get to grips with them.
Because it’s to play along with your chopsticks, DO N’T stab your food this is rude.
DO provide and take business cards in Japan. It’s a common everyday practice to hand over company cards in culture and is a fantastic method of not just but also who you are.
DON’T instantly place the business card in your pocket. This is regarded as rude. Either place the card down before you or put in your pocket, purse or purse as soon as you’ve exchanged and looked in the card.
DO queue properly and respectfully. Come on, we’re British and ought to be good at this! For example is an art form however, in areas the Japanese are very considerate and queuing at railroad stations. They know where the doorway to the train will soon be and make a queue in a line back from there. Itfunctions very nicely and organised!
DO N’T tip in Japan is your normal way if you’re considering handing over some extra money to cab drivers or even in bars, restaurants. There are occasions where is good it’s appropriate rather than offensive to tip it is quite common for a cab driver or bar worker to walk or even run once you if they have not returned the change.
DO use public transport in Japan. It’s well organized and always on time! In Tokyo for example most stations and trains have signage in English.
DON’T talk on your mobile phone on public transportation. It’s regarded as a little rude. If you’ve got a call, answer it, however, hang up fast! No one has a problem with that.
DO remove your shoes when seeing a few pubs, the restaurant may offer footwear and save your own shoes.
DON’T visit some public areas like swimming pools or beaches publicly displaying large tattoos. Though the generation won’t be offended as most Japanese have tattoos, a link is in Japan between crime syndicates the’Yakuza’. Very best information if going to a restaurant, then cover any vases up as it shows respect.
DO take any tsunami or intrusion warnings seriously. You don’t have to be alarmed if you notice hints and information on things to do in the event of tsunami or an earthquake, Japan is in a region of the planet in which earthquakes are a daily occurrence. Quakes you will not notice, however they educate all office workers in the cities and children on which to do in schools. Expect to find some information on your hotel or hostel. Talk to the resort manager or tour guide, if you are concerned.
DON’T be alarmed to find folks. Back at the UK it might be slightly disconcerting to see somebody wearing a mask in publicbut in Japan more often than not it’s the individual wearing the face mask who is attempting to be polite as there is a good chance that they might have a cold or a snivel and would like to guard you from grabbing it.
DO carry money in Japan. Surprisingly just 18 per cent of all transactions in Japan are using a credit or debit card. It is still considered as a’cash society’. This is less so as in some of Japan’s larger towns, but best to consult a cab driver first if they accept cards.
DON’T try to purchase or drink alcohol if you are under the age of 20. The Japanese are incredibly pleased with their brewing customs and good news for soccer fans is they take pride at the beer they create. Be respectful in which you’re drinking in bars and at stadiums it is nice, but it is frowned upon in order to drink on public transport and in open public places.

World Grand Prix Darts Outright Tips & Preview

The 2019 World Grand Prix is a few days away and the championship appears wide open. In having to strike a double to start the leg, the format of the important , has lent itself to lots of upsets through recent years. This means that there is a jolt or two on.
There are playing with some darts that are fantastic right now and youre able to create a case for a complete slew of those names in the tournament. The fact is telling you of his form lately and how open it is. Most say naturally MVG went to win plus we might return at the end of the week, hes the best player on the planet. But with short games at the start and the format, I would look at a couple at larger prices.
Looking at the draw, there is not any half of it to be around. Having said this, but the bottom half is tougher. There are a few tasty looking round games, such as Rob Cross v Mensur Suljovic and Gerwyn Price v Dave Chisnall. Chizzy got to the Gibraltar Darts Trophy final, losing out into Krzysztof Ratajski who also finds himself in this aspect of the lure, last week. Chisnall hit on a nine darter long the method and it seems like his darts are helping him. Prior to the attraction, I liked the expression but the kind of Chizzy would stress me. In actuality, I am not backing any stakes for the tournament in the bottom half the draw.
Instead, I am looking in the half of the draw for my own choices. YesMichael Van Gerwen is in this half but he is beatable. You never know in the Grand Prix although he really needs to get through his first two games. He could face fellow countryman Jeffery de Zwaan at the second round that famously beat on him. Whoever makes it throughout that component of the attraction I expect to confront my very first choice JAMES WADE (best cost 25-1).
This championship is clearly loved by the Grand Prix winner. Needing to begin on a dual suits Wade given his record about these. It is a clich?? but he really is a clutch player. Legs will sneak from nowhere. Since the birth of his son he seems to have become much more relaxed at the oche. His return to the Premier League saw him end in third place before dropping to Rob Cross from the semi-final.
Lately he reached two semi-finals in the Matchplay and New Zealand Masters. Then he followed this up with his fifth PDC name of this year a month in the Players Championship at Barnsley. He arrives at Dublin in form that is strong and with lots of memories . Having a good draw I think Wade is slightly on the major aspect at 25/1. As MVG understands following his jolt 2017 exit into the Scotsman, his match against John Henderson will be no pushover. If Wade will get past that with some momentum behind him I can see the Machine.
My second bet is MICHAEL SMITH (greatest cost 22-1). Certainly that major is only around the corner? He keeps knocking on the door at events that are large and youd believe he will go all of the way sooner or later. He was unlucky in the World Matchplay final against Cross however, it was yet another run in a major for the Bully Boy. He had some unsatisfactory early exits in the Players Championship at Barnsley that might be a factor supporting his price. As Smith always seems to devote a run at the events, this does not worry me, however.
His power is sensational and when he can land his doubles he can beat anyone. He could be a frustrating player to see and may be his own worst enemy sometimes. He works herself up a lot over missed chances which he carries into another leg instead of just forgetting about that. He is a joy to watch, when hes on song though.
Hes got a quarter of the draw. Obviously no games are easy but a player of Smiths calibre must get then and past Simon Whitlock either Ian White or Joe Cullen in his first two games. I imagine hes more determined than ever before to win that major he deserves. He has all the ability in the world and I do not doubt he will go on to acquire a few personalities. This week provides a perfect chance.

Hull FC veteran Gareth Ellis signs new deal for 2020 season

After signing a new contract with Hull FC for 2020 former Great Britain ahead Gareth Ellis is to play .
Hull also have continued their recruitment from Leigh, with the accession of Hull KR usefulness participant Joe Cator, 21 in a two-year deal.
Ellis, who is 39 next May, wrapped up his boots to become the soccer manager of Hull but came out of retirement a fortnight to the 2019 year and assisted a run of 13 consecutive defeats halts.
Hell be, by a distance, the first participant in Super League next season and could even break the record of prior Bradford and Catalans Dragons second-rower Steve Menzies, who was three weeks short of his 40th birthday if he played his last game to the French club at 2013.
Ellis stated:Following my initial comeback early in 2019, I didnt expect to be in and about the squad for the remaining portion of the season. I thought it would just be a bit of a swansong for me.
But I had that taste and it made me realise that I was still enjoying playing and that turned into me playing 20 matches which is pretty much a full season for me personally.
It was probably about 10 or 15 games into the time when folks began asking me the question concerning whether I believed I could travel around back in 2020. And with how I had been feeling, I was pretty sure I was able to do so.
Ellis, who played Wakefield, Leeds and Wests Tigers, has produced more than 350 looks in Super League and the NRL, winning two Grand Final rings at the procedure as well as two Challenge Cups with Hull.
Hull trainer Radford stated:The function he is going to play for us is going to be much different to the one he played a couple of years ago, but as he adapts and evolves hell be equally as important.
He brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership qualities he will pass to the rest of the squad and carries himself with the utmost professionalism, as we saw on and off the field last season.
Meanwhile, Hull-born Cator provides and becomes the eighth new signing for 2020 of Radford usefulness value to his group having an ability to perform hooker, back-row and centre.
Radford stated:Joe plays a really impressive mindset and I believe that can be extremely infectious.
His usefulness value is huge, having the ability to play at loose-froward or hooker. Our team is more smaller in dimension for 2020 however his utility makes up for this.
