Steven Gerrard unhappy with Scotland after Ryan Jack injury

Rangers director Steven Gerrard has accused the Scotland coaching team of becoming”careless” with Ryan Jack, as he picked up a knee injury on international duty.
The midfielder was shipped home following his knee issue and is still now a doubt for the match against Livingston on Saturday of his team.
Gerrard said:”Regrettably he had been asked to do an 11k session two days after an Old Firm [derby], that left his knee flare upwards.
“So we have had to handle him, he has needed to have a few procedures since.
“He did a light session with the physio [on Thursday] and now we’re hoping to put him into training tomorrow.
“I think that it’s just careless. Later playing 90 minutes, you should never , ever do 11k two weeks. That.
“it is a shame because he’s missed the last five/six coaching sessions, thus we are going to have to build his fitness back .”
Gerrard shown his fitness trainer has since been in contact with the Scottish Football Association.
“Ryan’s got a knee issue he manages and he has done for quite a long time,” he added.
“The SFA are aware of this, their exercise trainer is aware of that. I believe everyone in Scotland saw Ryan and 90 minutes play and watched the Old Firm. And 48 hours later, he did a double session”
The Rangers boss also spoke of his pleasure at the entrance of Ryan Kent into Ibrox, since the 22-year-old joined the bar in a deal that could be worth up to #7.5m on Deadline Day.
“We are very pleased. I really don’t think that it’s any secret how hard we tried and we attempted to get him .
“To get him on a permanent deal and for him to come across a home – I’m delighted.
“I understand the fans and everyone in the club is thrilled too. To get him , not only for a brief time, however, for four decades, it is fantastic for everyone.”
