Blue Jackets vs. Blackhawks NHL Pick – October 18th

As 2 of my three picks lost the last of which arrived from fashion, I couldnt regain my momentum out of a 2-0 Wednesday night.
Ahead of the match had a shootout with the two clubs knotted in threes later overtime as Boston Bruins and the Tampa Bay Lightning moved back-and-forth the night really got off to a nice beginning. The Lighting got a Steven Stamkos target in the shootout as we struck the Lighting at chances in this 28, while Andrei Vasilevskiy stood tall.
The night went downhill from that point. After once more getting the first goal of the game, the Winnipeg Jets will permit the three markers and proceeded to lose their third straight home game. The offense just isnt clicking and I had been bitten by it upon two of the few nights.
As the total went thanks to — you guessed it — an empty-netter, Ultimately, my pick of the night between the Predators and Coyotes lost. We stumbled with a push into the third stage however a Carl Soderberg empty-netter secured our fate and gave us night that was losing throughout the last three.
Its been a back-and-forth week to this stage, but let us enter the weekend on a high note at a matchup between the Columbus Blue Jackets and Chicago Blackhawks in the United Center in Chicago.

Blue Jackets vs. Blackhawks NHL Choose
Because the Blackhawks and Jackets ass heads in the United Center, it is a rare meeting in the Windy City tonight.
Columbus enters this one riding high after winning consecutive 3-2 games across Stars and the Hurricanes, a mini win streak after falling three of those four games of this season. John Tortorellas team has to prove after losing Matt Duchene, Artemi Panarin, Sergei Bobrovsky along with Ryan Dzingel to a free agency in the offseason. Naturally, they have been much better.
Scoring targets remains an issue. The Blue Jackets enters this one tonight tied for 28th with just 2.33 goals per game over the season and if they have been better against a couple of poorer offenses over the previous 3 matches, they have still allowed 3.33 goals per match on the rear end. Goaltending was an issue so much following GM Jarmo Kekalainen decided against updating the position after the passing of Bobrovsky, instead handing the keys. While Korpisalo has been much better of late, it appears tonights beginning will actually go.
Needless to say, said begin didnt go well. Merzlikins has been torched from the Pittsburgh Penguins good to get an .825 Svpercent in his NHL debut. We do understand he put in some wonderful work prior to taking his talents while we do not know a lot about Merzlikins from an NHL perspective. Merzlikins posted a good .921 Svpercent in Switzerland in each of the previous two seasons , nevertheless he found out that the NHL is an entirely new ball game.
Merzlikins will come face to face with keep whats a gifted Chicago Blackhawks crime at bay within this one. They havent fully reach their stride this season as they sit with an 3 goals per game despite the typical surge in October scoring, however remember this was the league crime from a year ago. The quarter of Dylan Strome, Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews and Alex DeBrincat must find the Blackhawks back to the top 10 this season while Erik Gustafsson is the sudden one of their most productive defensemen in the league from an offensive perspective.
On the rear end, the Blackhawks have been adequate whilst enabling 3.25 goals per game, a number that puts them right in the center of the league. However, it has been their penalty kill thats hurt them as they position 30th with an awful 61.5% mark over the PK, however for tonight that the fantastic news is that the Blue Jackets power play has scuffled a little bit having a 16.7% clip, great for a share of 23rd along with the Vancouver Canucks.
In four matches played this year, the Blackhawks have allowed only six goals against. Their blueline was updated with the Distinct trade acquisitions of Olli Maatta from Calvin p Haan and the Penguins in the offseason from a perspective from the Hurricanes. The hope is that the Blackhawks can be improved in their 30th-ranked defense from a season ago.
They updated their situation in the offseason with Robin Lehner whos coming from a season with the New York Islanders. Lehner has made only one start this season, but may get beginning number two. In his lone start of the year, Lehner let three goals on 33 shots in a 3-2 overtime loss. Lehner has been a very great goaltender throughout his nine-year NHL profession as he owns a .918 Svpercent for his profession and continues to be at .920 or greater in three of their four seasons. For winning teams while with the Ottawa Senators and Buffalo Sabres he simplynt played. For me, theres very little doubt about who has the advantage in this one.
All told, Im about the Blackhawks tonight. They snapped an season-opening three-game losing streak with a win on the Edmonton Oilers that were white-hot . They outshot the Oilers 35-28 because individual too. I like the looks of the crime and I cant help but feel they have a big opportunity tonight after being torched in his only appearance this year, against a goaltender who can not be playing with much confidence. They have scored three or more goals in every game this year, but I figure they are easily able to eclipse that mark awarded the situation tonight.
The Blue Jackets have been better especially but defending the Blackhawks could be a tricky undertaking and I feel the Blackhawks offense is about to split out. That wont be great news for Elvias Merzlikins and Co. as Im taking the Blackhawks to win this one around the moneyline tonight.
