He will not have his feet upward, although sky Sports presenter David Jones is currently taking advantage of an ancient international break in the Premier League season.
Rather, Jones will grow three marathons rising over 2,000 feet a day – shooting in portions of the Cleveland Way and the North Yorkshire Moors – climbing Ben Nevis’ equal .
School Aid India – set up by Jones’ mom Helen – provides education for underprivileged children in Darjeeling, in the Indian Himalayas. Through fund raising she helped to erect a school building which is now filled with kids who are desperate to understand, day, a few miles and night to get an education their households never dreamed was possible.
Not a penny comes out of the Indian government; all of the teaching, tools, books, and even computers, are all offered by the charity, but the outcomes are phenomenal.
Roseberry School – appointed in which Jones grew up after the hill Roseberry Topping that sits across the North Yorkshire village – houses 140 kids in seven school years, supplying them with an education and their families from the poverty trap.
Jones explained:”It’s an extraordinary success story but its own survival depends entirely on contributions – School Aid India is conducted by volunteers including my mom – and each and every penny goes straight to the faculty.
“Think of it like this:
#20 would provide a school uniform to 1 child which will fill them with pride,
#50 would provide 1 class
#2250 would cover a teacher’s salary for the entire calendar year.”
The charity has finished the now, and build of a brand new school wing to kit outside the building they’re currently seeking a carefully costed #7,590 to give an IT facility , new novels, furniture, musical instruments, sports equipment and other tools.
