I published several FanDuel MLB DFS Picks yesterday before Game 4 of the ALCS getting postponed, but with all the game set to take place tonight, I’ve tweaked my picks a tiny bit as we now know who the starting pitchers will be the Astros’ Zack Greinke chooses about the Yankees’ Masahiro Tanaka.
Let’s dive in and see what we could perform about this single-game slate!
MVP — Gary Sanchez (NYY) — $5,500 vs. HOU
There’s no change here since milk of the value we could get his strong bat and I want to get Sanchez to this MVP place. As a I noted Sanchez has not been a successful postseason actor to this point in his MLB profession that is young and is enduring a difficult postseason , however his ability is undeniable. Sanchez clubbed 34 home runs in only 106 games and 446 plate appearances this season and his ISO dropped just short of .300 in .293 — a number to be certain. The fantastic news with this one is that we understand Sanchez will face a pitcher and such a matchup is favored by his splits in the 2019 season. The righty-swinging Sanchez submitted a .302 ISO, .867 OPS, .357 wOBA and 123 wRC+ on the season against right-wing pitching — all of which were outstanding to his numbers versus lefties. Sanchez has not hit a home run since back on September 3rd (he was not playing everyday down the stretch), but he homered twice on that day and homered twice just 3 matches before that on August 31st. The point here is that Sanchez has run upside on the background as any other hitter and at just $5,500 his electricity will be taken by me and double it in the MVP spot tonight.
All-Star — Aaron Judge (NYY) — $8,500 vs. HOU
While Sanchez has scuffled a few within this postseason, this really isn’t the case with Judge who’s had a big postseason and has enjoyed plenty of success in the postseason in the past also. Entering this one tonight, Judge is hitting .318 having an .889 OPS in the 2019 postseason. Judge is hitting on .270 using a .971 OPS across 107 career postseason plate looks. He’ll enter this you riding a three-game hit series with a home run to go alongside a walk and a run scored. Needless to say, there is lots of power within this series including Sanchez above Judge might just reign supreme in this section. He owns a career .285 ISO, a number he fell short of with a .267 ISO this season with 27 home runs within a injury-shortened 102 season games. Unlike Sanchez, Judge’s splits are conventional as he pummeled left handed pitching this year — especially at home — but additionally hit right-handers for a .251 ISO, .847 OPS, .354 wOBA along with a 121 wRC+ over the summer. Given the way the bat has played the power on tap, I like the thought of netting 1.5x Judge’s dream points in this one tonight.
UTIL — Gleyber Torres (NYY) — $7,500 vs. HOU
Guy up in this stack is Torres who’s actually having almost any Yankee’s best postseason and is hitting at home run like it’s his day job in this sequence. Entering this one tonight, Torres owns a .417 average and 1.440 OPS because of hitting home runs, all of which have come over his last four games including Tuesday’s Game 3. While he is coming from a 1 for 2 with a home run and two-walk performance from Tuesday torres has added four doubles. Torres’ amounts were so slightly improved against left-handed pitching this season, no matter how the energy numbers were nearly identical as he posted a .256 ISO against righties and a .257 ISO against lefties. He hit righties to get a .258 ISO, .845 OPS, .343 wOBA along with 115 wRC+ at home this season. While I was planning to own him in this lineup no matter because of his own recency, the simple fact he’s enjoyed lots of success confirms his place. As gone for 8 with a homer and two doubles in his career against the veteran 22, the youthful middle infielder. Add it up and I want Torres in this lineup for tonight’s Game 4.
UTIL — Giancarlo Stanton (NYY) — $6,000 vs. HOU
There’s no promise that Stanton gets to the lineup tonight, but personally I do not care. We all know he is available to pinch-hit off the seat in this one and when the Yankees are down in this game you bet Aaron Boone is going to provide a shot this day to place into the seats at Yankee Stadium to the slugger. If he can start, he is a lock at $ 6,000 for me and that I would even consider swapping him Judge from the place to catch value from the price tag. It’s tough to base anything off of regular season amounts for Stanton since he played just 18 regular season matches, but we can have a look out of that time in his own 139 wRC + and observe he was obviously a bat despite his harm. IU imply, it’s Giancarlo Stanton. Yes, he has had trouble but he possesses a .279 profession ISO and boasts some of the finest power baseball has to offer you. He has hit only .238 in his profession against Greinkehe does have two home so the power still remains with a .286 ISO and .857 OPS from the right-hander. This price is just too attractive and I would guess that Stanton does get into the starting lineup after the rainout of yesterday afford him an additional day’s rest.
UTIL — Michael Brantley (HOU) — $7,000 vs. NYY
Michael Brantley has to find his power stroke in these playoffs and he scuffled for much of the series from the Rays, but his bat is now coming at the perfect time for the Astros. Is coming from a Game 3 in which he went 2 for 4 with a walk and a run scored. That put him to a .250 ordinary and .638 OPS for the playoffs, maybe not terrible considering that he was hitting .125 using a .250 OPS. I want to have gotten more bats in this lineup looking at the short porch in right field at Yankee Stadium, nevertheless the four Yankees bats above simply made a lot of sense to me thinking about recency, cost and power factors. Against right-handed pitching this year, Brantley posted a .323 average, .226 ISO, .928 OPS, .385 wOBA along with a 146 wRC+. The figures increased slightly on the street against righties since Minute Maid Park in Houston is a tough venue on right-wing power hitters. He is likely to provide you with a professional at-bats and he’s extremely hard to hit out, so at least we know the ball will be put into play tonight. He has gone 5 for 19 (.263) from Tanaka in his profession, but also with a homer and two doubles, good to get a .263 ISO along with .826 OPS. He’ll put one, or even more if all goes to plan.
