Coming off an angry win in Tallahassee which featured a 17-0 second-half streak and 18-point comeback, the Boise State Broncos busted to the AP Top-25. They are a team, making credit for beating a Electricity 5 group on the street, using a starting quarterback and running back at the helm. That standing has been rewarded with a 10.5 line within the Marshall Thundering Herd this past week.
The optimism round the Broncos is understandable. They punted only three occasions against the Seminoles, who have a family brand that garners respect. While compiling 407 yards and Hank Bachmeier, their freshman quarterback appeared the part.
But they’re getting premium points this week to get beating what’s been a lousy team under Willie Taggart. As well as Bachmeier and running Robert Mahone played around the street, there are enough warning signs to state that the 10.5 line against Marshall is high.
We can start on crime. Though Bachmeier had 407 yards, it took him 51 tries to achieve that amount, and had one touchdown throw to proceed with one interception. He owned third downs to an intense rate, completing eight of 12 passes for 136 yards.
This was not an offense, and the Thundering Herd can respond by forcing the offense to assault vertically more often with coverages that are competitive.
Their run defense has been suspect than the statistics suggest also. The Seminoles had several self-inflicted declines, with yards on the ground between sacks on James Blackman and their reduction on a single hurry. Those totals made their cumulative rush defense look much better than Cam Akers’ 15 carries for 116 yards and one touchdown.
The Seminoles made while the Broncos were solid and impressive.
Marshall is currently coming off a win. But we could deduce they have sets of legs at the backfield to create several worthy rushers from a far better competitor. Sophomore Isaiah Green is a effective at extending drives and hitting on large downfield throws to cancel some of his consistency problems.
The match will be won by boise State, but I am taking Marshall to pay thanks to plethora of playmakers and their explosive crime.
Crime and better entire field compared to the Seminoles. Also, the more is attractive. Both crimes are capable of hanging 30 on each other, therefore 56.5 appears quite low.
Best bet: Marshall +12.5 and Over 56.5 at -105 at Heritage in -105
