Peterborough Chase plan for Bags Groove

Harry Fry has earmarked the Peterborough Chase at Huntingdon as the Significant Goal of the season for Luggage Groove.

The Seaborough trainer intends to give the eight-year-old an outing over hurdles before turning back him to fences to the Grade 2 contest on December 8.
After suffering defeat his chasing debut early last season, Bags Groove claimed success in among his next five starts – like 2 in Grade 2 flat – before finishing down the field from the Manifesto Novices’ Chase at Aintree in April.
Fry said:”The Peterborough Chase is your most important aim for Luggage Groove.
“He could run at Aintree at a Class Two barrier first. He has won both of his previous begins at Huntingdon, at a bumper and over fences.
“I had been going to go to Ascot for the Grade 2 chase there in November – but that I really don’t fancy carrying on Cyrname and Altior.
“We have tweaked his palate on the summer. He had a great first year over fences, and we expect he will continue to do well over them”
After meeting a setback, fry’s unbeaten bumper winner Get In The Queue has been ruled out for the first half of this season.
The Paul and Clare Rooney-owned gelding made it three wins from as many starts when giving Noel Fehily that the winner of his career at Newbury at March.
Fry added:”Unfortunately Get In The Queue has picked up an injury and will be out before the second half of the year.
“We will look forward to watching him return later in the year”
