Next week may be launched his winter campaign by amy Murphy star Kalashnikov , with a shot at the Bet Monets Garden Old Roan Chase.
A trip to Aintree will see the six-year-old return in the Manifesto Novices Chase in April to the spectacle of the success, a one-and-a-quarter-length triumph over the La Bague Au Roi of Warren Greatrex.
The operation was the geldings third triumph of a year that saw him just after, when he unseated Jack Quinlan in the Arkle Trophy.
He is in very good shape and hopefully he will run in the Old Roan, Murphy said.
Murphys long-term goal for its winner is that really a victory at the Cheltenham Festival.
Denied by a neck when second to Summerville Boy in the 2018 Sky Bet Supreme Novices Hurdle, the return to Prestbury Park of Kalashnikov has been the luckless run that found him unseat Quinlan.
The Ryanair is the dream, said Murphy, speaking to this Grade One chase within an extended two and a half kilometers.
But obviously were a very long way off that now.
Murphy does not expect Mercian Prince to go back with all the gelding undergoing a wind operation so soon, to actions.
Mercian Prince is famous, we have just tweaked his judgment, she explained.
Hes a fantastic month off a run, weve not got any plans in the minute as he has done no speedy work
Even the eight-year-old handicapper contested a handful of rated chases last year, picking up victories in less prolific business at both Kempton and Plumpton.
Stablemate Mercian King has been retired, with lasted a career-ending harm.
The eight-year-old was the first horse to be owned by the Thoroughbred Club, an arm of the Thoroughbred Breeders Association aimed toward bloodstock aficionados.
He is fine, hes just picked up an accident, explained Murphy.
He will have three months of rehab and then well determine what to do with him and where hell go.
