Don’t be surprised if”Ratsapp” becomes part of their English lexicon thanks to anti-wallflower Roy Keane.
At a show in Dublin, the 48-year-old was once again given the chance to vent his fury when he had been assistant in three Republic of Ireland gamers who crossed his path.
Not just he take the opportunity, he also added a dash of hot sauce.
All of it emanated the final year of manager Martin O’Neill’s tenure and his, from 2018. Until Stephen Ward relayed the alleged incidents via a WhatsApp audio message which was leaked into the media midfielder Harry Arter and forward Jonathan Walters reportedly had run-ins using Keane more than training.
None to let bygones be bygones, the former Manchester United midfielder moved”full Keane” again on the matter, reserving most of his rancour for former ahead Walters.
The striker, who gained over 50 caps, recently maintained their feud started when they were at Ipswich over transfer interest.
Keane replied:”He talks a good game. Imagine if he’d won a decoration. He goes about the way I treated him about the TV. He’s crying on the TV about his family situation.
“Perhaps he needs to lie for some time. Take a look at his awards? That wouldn’t take long.”
Walters and arter didn’t get off lightly.
Of these, Keane added:”Harry Arter moved to Cardiff on loan, and they got relegated. Wardy can not get from the Stoke group right now and they’re down in the bottom of the league.”
Asked about his perceived confrontational style of man-management,” Keane said:”Sometimes you’re trying to motivate players. Did I get it radically wrong with the situation at Sunderland? At Ipswich? Perhaps they [gamers ] got it wrong. They over-reacted.
“Brian Clough [his supervisor at Nottingham Forest]. You are about motivation. He punched me one time – that he was upset and it had been heated. I remember thinking,’you a brilliant supervisor’.
“I came from the next day and trained. I didn’t text somebody in the press or move on Ratsapp.”
