In having to reach a double to begin the leg the structure of this important has lent itself to a lot of upsets over recent years. This means there is a shock or two on.
There are so many players enjoying some darts that are brilliant and youre able to make a case. The fact you can find Michael Van Gerwen in 15/8 is telling you of his kind just how open it is and recently. of say of course MVG was likely to win plus we might look back at the end of the week, hes the best player on earth. However, with the format and games at the start, I would consider a couple at bigger prices.
There isnt any easy half of it to be around. Having said this, however, the bottom half is definitely tougher. There are a number of tasty looking first round matches, including Rob Cross v Mensur Suljovic and Gerwyn Price v Dave Chisnall. Last week, Chizzy got to the Gibraltar Darts Trophy final, dropping out into Krzysztof Ratajski who finds himself in this aspect of the attraction. On a nine darter was struck by chisnall and it seems like he is being actually helped by his brand new darts. Prior to the attraction, I enjoyed the expression of Price, who is just getting better, however I would be worried by Chizzys kind. In fact, I am not backing any stakes for the championship in the bottom half of the draw.
I am looking at the half of the draw for my own selections. YesMichael Van Gerwen is still in this half but he is beatable. You never know in the Grand Prix although he really needs to get through his first two matches. He could possibly face fellow countryman Jeffery de Zwaan in the next round that he famously beat him. Whoever makes it throughout that component of the attraction I hope to confront my first selection JAMES WADE (best cost 25-1).
The Grand Prix winner adores this championship. Having to begin on a suits Wade given his impeccable record. Its a clich?? but he is a clutch player. Legs will slip from nowhere. Since the sons arrival he seems to have become a lot more relaxed at the oche. His return to the Premier League watched him end in third position.
He reached two semi-finals in the European Matchplay and New Zealand Experts. Then he followed this up with his PDC name of the year a month in the Players Championship in Barnsley. He arrives in Dublin in form and with happy memories here. Having a decent draw that is enough I think Wade is marginally on the big side at 25/1. His match against John Henderson is going to be no pushover, as MVG knows following his shock 2017 exit to the Scotsman. If Wade will get past that using some momentum the Machine moving far in the tournament can be seen by me.
My second bet is MICHAEL SMITH (greatest cost 22-1). Surely that important is only around the corner? He keeps knocking on the door at events and youd think he will go the way sooner or later. He had been against Cross at the World Matchplay final but it was yet another run at a big for the Bully Boy. He had some unsatisfactory exits from the Players Championship in Barnsley month which may be a factor behind his cost. As Smith always seems to put in a good run at the huge events, this does not worry me, however.
His ability is magnificent and he could beat anyone when he can land his doubles at a pace. He could be such a frustrating player to view and can be his own worst enemy sometimes. He works herself up a lot over missed opportunities that he carries into another leg instead of simply forgetting about it. He is a pleasure to see when hes on song however.
He has a favourable quarter of the draw. Obviously no games are easy but a player of Smiths calibre must get then and beyond Simon Whitlock Joe Cullen or even Ian White in his first two games. I imagine hes more determined than ever to eventually win that first major that he deserves. He has all of the talent in the world and I dont doubt hell go on to acquire a few personalities in his career. This week provides a perfect opportunity to eliminate the mark.

Read more here: http://adisuzuki.com/2019/10/20/premier-league-stats-english-players-getting-more-minutes/

The 2019 World Grand Prix is a matter of days away and also the championship appears wide open.
